Spanish Civil War (Empress) Assault Guards -first units

Gents,

Just popping up the latest off the paint table - well pleased with them.

There are many colorful units in the SCW and the Empress range really captures the spirit of the period with its extensive range - love 'em! A few new vehicles coming out as well from Minairon

These Assaultos off course are from that lovely range from Empress....thank you Mr Hicks!

As an aside, I'm reading Ben Hughes' book 'They shall not pass'. It gives very good detail down at the platoon level about the battle of Jarama - recommended!

Although i wouldn't have trusted the Guardia Civil lurking behind them ...  :)

Thanks Gents,

For me, the way to a nice paint job is a great sculpt to start with  ;)

For those that are interested, the technique used is a white undercoat, all over base color brush-on/heavy wash, then a 'stain' with either my black stain coat (local product) or army painter Strong or Dark tone as required. Once the base coat is on all 'brown' type colors that take an Army Painter wash are applied. Once that's done, flat varnish and touch up....done!

Quite simple and straight forward...the key is a crisp paint job and, as I said, an excellent mini to start with.

Very very good job!!!. I want paint an army of Guardias de Asalto (but in 15mm), and your work is very inspiring :)

Your webpage is superb and the LAF thread on your SCW tanks are amongst the nicest models I have seen of those vehicles......very, very nice back at you!  :D

Can you tell us, will the new Flames of War SCW book be available in English?
