My delaques and scratchbuild rebel grots
« on: May 31, 2013, 12:38:51 PM »
Just wanted to show of some of my stuff.

I got the these Delaques in a deal with the old rule books. I wasn't really interested in them, untill I decided they would be cool cowboys. I just didn't like the bald heads. A few black cat bases hats later:

GorkaMorka was my first miniature game after heroquest almost a decade earlier. I really liked the rebel grots, but didn't want to chase them down on e-bay. This is my first scratch build using plasti-card and was loads of fun to do.

Big Lugga

And the Cutta's

These were all painted in one go, which was quite the chore, even when speedpainting. I Really like them do. Hope you agree.

All great stuff.. Good paitning too. But those hats make them look like the delaques have pin heads or something...  :-X

I think it's such a simple conversion that really changes them (space cowboys!). The cutters are nice too - love they all run on renewable energy ;)

Nice paintjob but the hats sit a couple of mm too high on the head for me. Lower the hats on the head and they'd be so much better.

Those guys are Firefly as heck (and I'm completely fine with the hats).  I dig em.

Having seen all of these bad boys in the flesh/plastic/lead, I can only add my voice to the growing chorus of nicepaintjobbers: Nice paintjobs! But I told you about the hats... I say leave them as is; all the more surface for my Eschers to shoot at.  lol

And we really need to get that Gorka Morka campaign set up so my Boyz can mince up and/or enslave those runts of yours...  :D

But not any time soon, as I'm typing this on my phone from the hospital during a lull in Mrs. D's labour!  PUSH!!  :o

Oh; our tuesday night gaming plans will also be cancelled I fear...  ;)

Thanks all, I can see what people mean by the hats being to high on the head, but at this stage any more tampering is gonna do more harm then good I think. It doesn't bother me enough.  I'll probably adjust the next batch, though.

Fantastic idea. I wonder why no one has thought of this before. The hats didn't bug me till someone pointed them out. Considering how wonky many GW sculpts are, I don't see this as a real issue.
