IHMN Company - Her Majesty's Martian Constabulary
« on: May 31, 2013, 02:43:00 PM »
Hi All, I've been lurking around the VSF board for a while, generally in awe at the superbness produced by the posters here ...

I've decided to stick my head above the parapet and put in a link to my (first) company for In Her Majesty's Name, Her Majesty's Martian Constabulary, which is here:

http://downamongtheleadmen.blogspot.co.uk/2013/05/ihmn-her-majestys-martian-constabulary.html

Hope you like!

Love it - are you going to do Martian Criminals as well!

Welcome aboard, cmnash.
A great way to introduce yourself.

That is a great twist on the traditional London Bobbie force.
Love the figures you have chosen, they look great!
 :-*

The background on all the characters made me laugh too.
I particularly like the way you have assigned their skills.
Clever.

One word of advice: Try to put at least a teaser pic here, rather than just a link to your blog.
A picture says a thousand words and will encourage people to look at the rest on your blog.
 ;)

That's a great idea. I'm now tempted to include a few martian characters in my London setting. :)

Thanks! Not at the moment, as I don't have any Martians yet!  :(  I am working on creating some from conversions though ...

There will be nefarious ne'er-do-wells and troublemakers in the near future, however, including "Sons of Revolution", "Sanwar Raiders" and "The Metallic Men" amongst others ...

note: only working names at the moment - they may well change!

I've been assembling a 28mm VSF collection for several years now, and the release of IHMN has provided me with a set of rules that inspires to use them!

Thanks Mason. I'm glad you liked the background on the characters, I hoped it would inspire and entertain!   :)

I do like the way you have created and followed your theme.

Is the red to camouflage the constables in the Martian terrain?

Well ... either that or hide the blood that might get spilt on them!  ;)

I mentioned above that I was working on conversions to use as Martians, and I've got a bit of an update on that; I got some Sidhe from Brigade Models and Shadow Elves from Black Tree to use as base figures and the Black Tree fiugres turned out to be ideal for my purposes.  They have been hacked about, stuck onto slottas last night and will be undercoated tonight with any luck.

I was inspired by this post by Blodwin:
http://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=9801.msg615279#msg615279
to have a go at creating a skiff for my Sanwar, so I've started that ... mine will be foamcore and mounting board though, and I'm really not sure how it's going to turn out  :?

And I've made a good deal of progress on the arab part of my french martian company!

BTW - I've also finished my Brigade Models 2mm mediterranean village for Aeronef/Land Ironclads!

Last week was very productive (for a change!), but cutting a water pipe when you believe that the water is off and then finding out that it is not  :o , sort of washed out the weekend for me ....   :'(

I assumed it was to hide the red dust that gets everywhere, including on clothing. :)
