Both excellent entries -- and a very difficult choice.

Those deep ones came out very nicely.  Well done!

The Admiral, however, has put together one of the best entries in the competition to date.

Geez... Admiral!  o_o

I think that is a fair statement!

You are free to call it a tough choice but I know a good clobbering when I see (or feel) one. lol

Not that I'd have voted otherwise. Especially the Reaper friar must be the jolliest monk I've ever seen. I still want one regardless of having no actual use for him. The porter is a classic too. And the painting is as great as stated here several times.

I also admit happily exploiting the cheap palette allowed by my genre choice. I got through the whole batch with about five colours. I guess people managed to catch my bluff/slacking. :D

The small minis are...umm...AD&D Sahuagin? (Never played AD&D or its derivatives other than NetHack.) The large ones are Ugdru-Rashaar for Carnevale by Vesper-on. Sort of plain sculpts but that's fine for fast painting. Besides, my underwater squad is an equal opportunity employer. Ability to swim would be recommendable for a long-term career, though.

"Enchantment under the sea" could have made a nifty alternative title...

Yes it was, in the end, a clear cut win/loss but I think what people meant was the choice was tough due to the quality of your entry; they could have been a lot of 50-50s tat went the other way...
