Hi,
I like the offset angle for the harbour wall, it very much adds to the visuals.
I work for an Architectural Practice and have never been able to draw two lines parallel to each other ...
Here's a few phots and some details about the half-timber buildigs from TSS -
Most of the kits follow this basic arrangement - roof and walls. This one is the small grain store and the bits on the left of the pic are the staddle stone upon which t rests.
This started out as "Manor Farm" but has been built in a different way to form a jetted building (with quite a few bits left over for another project). The blue foam chimney is not supplied with the kit.
Gable end view
Underside view showing foam core floor; the corner cut out are for the timber dowel strengtheners, which are hot glued into the corners.
As I stated in an earlier post, these kits do need a lot of work - note the gap under the roof and the making good where the jetty section projects. There are quite a number of gaps still to fill on this building, too.
A small, two piece building in my usual Wilkinson Quick Drying Satin Paint undercoat finish (colour - "Conker")
Basic, unaltered small barn
Small hovel with large chimney added; the chimney has a solid blue foam core and is finished with a layer of spackle/ ready mixed filler. I also replaced the roof on this one as the casting were very poor - it's "oldhammer" style with the tiles made from the empty cardboard catfood box.
A run of the mill two story jetted house with a blue foam stack added.
The "Black Dog" pub - a basic house kit with a new stack and sign added.
I'm happy with the finished articles and they are useful in a number of settings, but they don't half take a time to finish.
Enjoy.
