Hello all -

One of the things we've struggled with since our new website went up last fall is how best to account for shipping - especially international shipping - given the USPS rate increases and the limitations of our website's ability to calculate shipping automatically.

This is especially important for our international customers, without whose support we couldn't stay in business.  We value all of you & want to offer the fairest terms possible while still not winding up "in trouble" due to eating too much of the excess cost.

So, our revised shipping policies can be found on the Black Army website here: http://www.blackarmyproductions.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=73&Itemid=476

Domestic US shipping has not changed, except that we are now offering free shipping for U.S. orders over $150.

For International Shipping - We've realized that a flat rate simply won't work - the variance is too great, and doesn't necessarily correlate to dollar amounts spent.  So if we charge a flat rate by $$, we end up either under-charging, or over-charging.  But a flat rate is the only way our website will do it.

So, here's what we'll do - if you are overseas, you will not be charged for shipping  through our website's shopping cart system.  Instead, we will separately send you a Paypal invoice for your actual shipping cost.  After calculating a number of hypothetical shipments, I believe this change should result in lower costs to you than under the flat rate system.

For example - our heaviest product is the Stanley Steam Tank, weighing 14.4 ounces. It will ship to most international destinations for $17; if you ordered 2 Steam Tanks, shipping would be approximately $21.  A small miniatures order that can be placed in an envelope may cost under $10 for First Class Mail depending on weight. An order of several smaller vehicles (i.e. a few of our armored cars) would probably ship for $20-24. An order consisting of several packs of minis weighing more than 2 pounds would be most efficiently shipped in a small Priority Mail flat rate box for $24.  And while we can't, at this time, offer free shipping across the board over a certain dollar threshhold, if you do place a large order from us, we will see what we can do in terms of a discount :)
