Boys in Blue ready to hunt the Ripper!
« on: June 10, 2013, 10:49:55 AM »
Hello all,

Empire of the Dead has really taken off at our club Nunawading Wargames Association (NWA) here in Melbourne.

I already have one faction but have started another:

Scotland Yard.

First up the Boys in Blue ready to hunt down Jack the Ripper or face the forces of Darkness on the streets of Whitechapel.

Figures are by Eureka.

And here is Jack himself

The figure is a special edition figure from North Star In Her Majesties Name range. It has a nice steampunk cyborg Freddy Krueger thing going on which is nice.

Also its the first time I have painted a figure almost entirely black. Quite happy with how he has come out.

Cheers

Fuzzy.
Crikey, sir. I'm looking forward to today. Up diddly up, down diddly
down, whoops, poop, twiddly dee - decent scrap with the fiendish Red
Baron - bit of a jolly old crash landing behind enemy lines - capture,
torture, escape, and then back home in time for tea and medals.

Nice job, I like how you've done the claw as well. The bobbies are nice what make are they?

I really like the Eureka bobbies, and I just got the limited edition Jack so I really appreciate seeing the fine job you did with him.  By the way, who makes the railing in the background of the picture with the bobbies?  Thanks for posting.  Richard

Richard, I picked up the railings on eBay. The seller is evemodel_ca(571).

Nice brushwork on the Bobbies :)

Very nice work, I especially like that you've made the bases thematic too. I need to start doing that with mine.

Yep, the bobbies are wonderful.  Jack ain't shoddy either but that hand is a bit OTT for my taste

Ditto!
But I have to say that the way you have done Jack's eyes makes him work for me.
Top work!

The Jack miniature does come with a normal arm as well but it was missing when I received mine  :( so I had to go with the Freddy Krueger look. I would have preferred the normal arm but this cyborg arm is growing on me.

Since I will only ever use him in EOTD-IHMN Steampunk games it doesn't really matter.

Thanks for the nice comments  :)

Cheers

You had to order the normal arm separately.

Lovely job on all of the figures, and thanks for the heads up on the fences.

I only wish the ripper was available in the store for those that didn't pay the higher funding levels too.

Nice set of bobbies. I've just spent a productive day painting a mix of Eureka and North Star IHMN bobbies for my IHMN Scotland Yard faction. Once I've finished the leaders and Special Branch figures I'll be back to painting up more bobbies - this time Ironclad figures in capes.
