Minairons' next 1/72 SCW model
« on: 13 June 2013, 06:27:02 PM »
We're excited and proud to present you the next SCW model tank, which we shall release in 1:72nd scale pretty soon --during next month, most likely.

It's the IGC Sadurní d'Anoia Assault Tank, a project commissioned in late 1936 by the War Industries Board of Catalonia (IGC) to a small factory in the town of Sant Sadurní d'Anoia, well known in Spain before then by their renowned Benach civilian tractors.

The factory --by then held by the CNT trade union-- responded to the commission with two prototypes of a turretless tank, one of which can be seen above.

At this scale, the model itself will be about 5cm long and 2.5cm wide. It will be all-resin, except for a hard-plastic Hotchkiss MG. The IGC Sadurní d'Anoia Assault Tank will be sold individually in a small box, similar to that of our Pz. Befehlswagen IB.

For a little more information on the vehicle itself, as well as on our own scale model of it, please check this post in our blog.

Quite a curious, ill-known little tank, don't you believe?

Painting job of its first prototype about to start. This is what it looks like:

(Here shown alongside to a couple of Irregular Miniatures 20mm figures. I realize now that I forgot wiping the MG glue drop, sorry!)

(This is a back view of tank)

(And this is a photo on the real thing)

This is not all, as a matter of fact. We'll take advantage of the already designed hull for also making its Universal Carrier and Artillery Tractor versions --this latter, with an attached Schneider 155mm gun. Here you can see a (rather poor) caption of all three versions altogether:

Each version will be sold separately, along with a few, easy to imagine white metal accessories  ;)

As for the Assault Tank version, that had to be already released, not to say that it has experienced some delay, so that it has finally been overtaken by our Bilbao Armoured Car. We don't  expect to release it before September 11th --Catalonia's National Day.

Cheers,
Lluís

That's a really nice model.  I too hope that you bring it out in the larger scale.  I wonder, however, does it have rivets around the upper structure?  They're clearly present in the original photos, but it's hard to tell if they're present on the model itself.  Tankers love rivets, you know.

Rivetting must be dosified just as cherries in a cake, my friend   lol
