40 mm sculpts

I've been tempted for a while to game with slightly larger minis in skirmish/RPG games. I settled on 40mm (1/43).

I did a test sculpt for a witch/adventurer (who will be the character played by my younger daughter). She's 36mm to the eyes. She still needs some cleaning up and I may resculpt the hair and redo the buttons on her dress. However, I'm fairly happy with how she turned out. C&C welcome.

I should point out that my first thought was: "Why is the witch carrying a laptop?"
So my eyes are probably not the best to trust to.....

Are you thinking of having her cast? If so, what is the cover of the book made from? If it's plasticard then it wont work for the mould making process.

Are you thinking of having her cast? If so, what is the cover of the book made from? If it's plasticard then it wont work for the mould making process.

I wasn't thinking of having her cast. It's probably my best sculpt so far but I'm not convinced there would be much interest as she's 40mm. This being said, I didn't realise plasticard would be a problem for casting, as I had seen a few greens using it. I assume it would be fine for a resin cast though, but will try to avoid it in the future as I'd like to have a few models cast at some point.

Anyway, now she got a base and a cat (which still needs a bit of work)

I decided to paint her. I'm a mediocre painter and only had limited time to do her and the cat, as I wanted her to be finished before I pick up my daughter from school. However, I'm fairly pleased with the result.

That cat is another great sculpt and the paintwork is better than 'mediocre', much better.
