Necromunda Game Report
« on: 02 July 2013, 01:55:32 PM »
Pics of a recently hosted Necro game. Fairly simple setup and scenario with the Redemptionists outpost post (chapel in the middle of the table being invaded by two gangs, who had seperate agendas for turning up. As soon as they found out about this, the cult decided to abandon and set up somewhere else, but the bretheren father needed to be escorted to safety first................

As normall happens, pics of the beginning and middle of the game, not so many towards the end when things are happening thick and fast. On one side Xaraxus the Instigator - Hammer of the Weak, Lord Ascendant of the Eastern Wastes - set up his gang, whilst on the other side "The Bureau" also moved in and started blowing firepower across the place very early

Table Layout

It ain't much but its home - sentries lurking around the perimeter whilst sermon is being held.

Xaraxus team moves in, but begins taking heavy fire from the Bureau backup weapons.

Cult members taking a perimeter to clear the pathway. Did';t go well under a battering from both sides, so had to divert people off to try and hold the tide.

Said heavy proceeding to lay down the pain on both the redemptionist escapees & the incoming opposing invaders. Very well deployed by Legionnaire Bert!

At this point, only the Bureau was sitting reasonably pretty with Xaraxus gang taking a kicking from enraged robe wearers and the man himself falling to a lucky shot from a cult devotee pistol! With this news, they were forced to draw back, but could the redemption hold out?

The main man (Bert himself?) wades into a deacon, who had just flamed, wounded and held up an attempting outflank attempt by a number of gangers, despatching him in quick measure

The cult father makes a break for cover and freedom..........

............and fails miserably.

At this point, there was nothing left for it but for the process church of the final redemption to withdraw from the table completely and to escape to safety.

I'm afraid that with the "energy drinks" being supplied all night, we all forgot to run up experience and post game rolls, so that has to be done later. Word has arrived that Berts leader is now partially deafened - probably from all that heavy firepower from his own side. The big news to come though - will Father Meldrum or Xaraxus survive 'till the next meeting? We'll have to see.

Great looking table to play on - good effort Kitsune ;). Fun game, too - I benefitted from the other two bashing each other up whilst I stepped in to mop up. Didn't do that intentionally, I was just being all sneaky Delaque, and got there late for teh fight.

I think you can almost feel the Necromundan sun baking off the pictures! Fab looking table. 8)

Still a reasonable fight - you had the deacon and couple of others to deal with. They didn't do very well, but thats to be expected when you interrupt hymn services!

And Bert being all sneaky.... :o
Whatever next?!?

Are those the 'new' buildings in there, sir?
They look the dogs.

And that church looks pretty damn passable.
Where is it from?

The larger buildings connecting everything up have been sitting in the archive for quite a while now, but never been painted so I go them done in time for this game.

The church is a renedra plastic one which is pretty good. Its probably closer to 25mm over 28mm though, but still fine on the table. I have the barn as well which I've not done anything with yet

The "new" buildings are the sarrissa ones I used for Batman. Still unpainted (quelle surprise)

Looked at those Sarissa buildings for VSF but wasnt too impressed.

Do you reckon they were worth it, seeing as you will still have to work on them eventually.

I'm quite happy with them so far. I bought the five in the picture and the massive warehouse, which will take work, but I think having the insides accessible can add a lot instead of just being "dead" areas of the table. I doubt I'll be buying any more though as thats easily enough for my purposes.

Lovely stuff, I have to dig out my "almost Necromunda" minis to have a game..

Any chance of seeing that church with a 28mm cowboy?

Use one of your Artizan Thrilling Tales minis, he will know how they scale up.

Great looking tables!  Necromunda was such a freakin' great game (old school here though as I like the box edition, and none of the expansions).  It was up there with Warhammer Quest as some of the best stuff GW ever put out...

I can't believe they don't keep products like that around.  Especially when they're all-inclusive in one box.  Seems comical to eliminate them from the lineup.
