Scenarios for Old West games?
« on: 03 July 2013, 06:37:49 PM »
All,
Fistful of Lead has 4 scenarios, and Six Gun Sound had several, can anyone suggest another source of scenarios?  I've seen reference to Gisby's TRWNN page, but the scenario page seems to be gone.  I am half tempted to by the "Cowboys: Way of the Gun" boardgame, as I know that has at least 20 scenarios, but I am loathe to spend $40.00!

Any way to get the scenarios without buying the rules?

Blackwater Gulch is a free download, though I don't know if there are any scenarios involved.

We also had a thread Nick about ideas for scenarios (and a bunch of people had posted some).  You can probably dig it up here on page 3-4? I started it, but I forgot what it was called.

we tend to play Legends of the Old West, and i used Warhammer Skirmish as the basis of a number of scenarios. Skirmish isn't officially available anymore but it was distributed in a number of free pdfs, so with a little google-fu you should be able to track them down pretty easy.

adapted scenarios included: building hastily made barricades to defend a town (a la Magnificent Seven), attempting to cross a river into enemy held territory buy building tree trunk bridges and sneaking past enemy tents. it also gave me a chance to build some simple scenario specific terrain as well, which was a nice bonus.

I have volumes 1-3, and highly recommend them.  Each gunfight is described in more than enough detail to use for a scenario, many with maps and great pictures.

How are you?  I do indeed remember Boot Hill.
