15mm support droids/bots?
« on: July 13, 2013, 02:06:12 PM »
I am lining things up to get my gruntzz 15mm forces in order this summer, and hopefully get a game or two with AAR in as well. Anyhow I was looking at my Eureka space germans I use for specialists and noted they look a tad small and lonely on their 30mm bases. Now I am making them a high tech force with a lot of robots an droids so I am looking for some small support bots to put on their bases but I feel I am kind of lacking options. GZG has a pack, and so does 15mm.co.uk but that cant be all support staff robotics out there right? Any suggestions?

As a last ditch option I am considering using Khurasan ASV's but they are a bit large for what I have in mind.

Another option is to look at 6mm robots.

What do you have in mind?  If I have something made up it would be too late for you I'm afraid, but I'm always looking for customer input.

Haha, now there is a question.  :D With the current choice being not all that broad its easy to say "something else" defining that something takes a bit of thinking.

I would say A droid that's part Swiss army knife power tool without having arm sticking out all over the place, part bomb disposal robot and part wal-e without the stumpy arms and googly eyes.

Big difference between an all round engineering bot and a bomb disposal bot would be that the later only needs to be able to grab stuff and drop it in a really sturdy bin. The other would probably benefit from the same tools carried by modern fire fighters. Jaws of life, buzz saw. Plus whatever sort of tools future engineers would use for jury rig jobs, not sure what that should be beyond welding lasers.

To me most smaller robots look a bit slow for keeping up on the battlefield so having this being an option would also be cool:

The round one is 10mm high, the other a bit taller:

Impressive Ink! You actually introduced me to a few 15mm ranges I didn't even know about there!  lol Tough in all honesty none of the miniatures on offer really are what I am looking for.  :-X  I guess I am just going to go for the 15mm.co.uk bot pack and perhaps see if I can convert them a bit.

These tiny bots may be too comical for your purposes, but check them out: http://www.reapermini.com/Miniatures/Chronoscope/latest/50015
