I use militputt as i bought some a while ago to get into sculpting and i still have loads. I use a sharp needle for poking the holes as my mum and sister do sowing so i borrowed one of theirs'  ::)

Chain mail can be different sizes, but from the table the differences can't really be seen. I just poke the holes and see what happens, sometimes it's neater and smaller, other times it's s a bit scruffy.

Im sure your mum n sister wont mind will they? haha!...

I've only tried miliput for the moment, i might experiment with others some time. I use water when i work as if not the miliput sticks to your fingers and tools.

All the converted minis were plastics, much easier to cut apart!

Max.... Yeah mixing milliput leaves it on your finger tips, im guessing that milliput standerd you used?
when you mix milliput superfine white its even worse for covering your finger tips , atleast when i did it it did .
Water makes a big difference and great for getting a realy nice smooth finish.
have you tried cutting an arm or a leg off a figure and resculpting it?

Standard, yes.

So far i've only sculpted add-ons, or a covering for an arm or body with new armour or clothing. I haven't tried doing something completely new, i always have a plastic 'skeleton' to work from.

I often cut down a plastic body and cover it in a breastplate, or chain mail hauberk. I might try that some time, but for the moment i have plenty of spare parts to use as a base!
I've done a couple of tries making my own figures, but i'm never happy with proportions, hence the reason i only convert existing figures. Maybe one day ??

There are some examples of stuff i do on my blog, and i will be sharing some more things here soon.

The sculpts i did might be around somewhere but i did them a bit ago and maybe thrown away during one of the 'cleaning workspace' operations.

My blog is scyldandseax.blogspot.fr. I did have it in my signiature but it's disappeared  ???

You could ask me, but i don't know everything so if you ask me a vague question i might not know the answer.
Someone on this forum might though!
