CyberAlien's 7TV
« on: 27 July 2013, 06:27:24 PM »
Since I just obtained the rulebook for 7TV by Crooked Dice, I found myself making lots of casts, but none that actually motivated me to paint up a whole bunch of them. Yesterday, I finally managed to create a cast that I was completely satisfied with. It is an (anti-)villainous cast and I have just finished some of the painting. Here's some background information...

The programme is called:

The Surgeon of Time

The Year is 1968. Somewhere, deep in the wilderness of India, a solitary hermit meditates in his temple. This man is known as the Surgeon. No-one knows where he came from and what he wants, but this man is not of this world. He is an alien, the last survivor of a once mighty and proud race called the Dukes of Infinity. Now he doesn’t care for anything, and meditating peacefully is his only activity. Until now. Earth is entering a new age, an age which distinguishes the past history of the earth from the new, modern, advanced era. However, this is not just happy and optimistic, because now alien civilisations are interested in planet earth. And not in a friendly way. The aliens attack rapidly and bring destruction to the blue planet, so the Surgeon sets out on a journey, purely out of selfishness, to stop these intruders from destroying his place of rest and meditation. With his mystic powers the Surgeon enters the Vortex of space and time and from all over time and space he recruits a team of anti-villains. Together they fight off the aliens and wreak havoc on their civilisations. And so begins the story of the Surgeon of time…

The first steps:

The Mellowbots

When the Surgeon first needed some helpers to fight off the invading aliens, he created some marvellous pieces of technology derived from the blueprints of the Dukes of Infinity's robo-servants. He armed them with his razorblades since the Surgeon never used those anyway. Because they were rather plain and boring-looking, the Surgeon also dressed them up according to his own style, and thus came into existence... the mellowbots.

They count as Metalnauts for the game stats, as described in the core rulebook.

When I was searching for some suitable miniatures I dug through my Doctor Who Lead- and plastic-pile and found these. I thought they would do the trick. I repainted them and here they are!  :)

Count von Ritterburg, the Cyborg-knight from the 15th Century

During the Surgeon's travels in the past (more specifically, 1485) he was aided by the german knight Hermann von Ritterburg, who fought as a mercenary at the battle of Bosworth. During the battle, he was gruesomely wounded and death was imminent. But the Surgeon had the technology to save the knight. And so he implanted cybernetic parts, and built a high-power, fast-firing crossbow for him. But the Surgeon also removed von Ritterburg's emotions, and made him obey every command the Surgeon would give him. Now the Cyborg-knight is the Surgeon's most notorious henchman, a cold-blooded killer and a ruthless warrior that will stop at nothing.

His stats:

Count von Ritterburg, 15th Century Cyborg – Co-star – Failed Experiment – 45 ratings
Move   Def   Hits  Str    Agi    Int   Mor
6   5   2   4   3   2   3
Special Effects
Fearsome, Luck (1), Alien (He is a human cyborg but counts as alien), Mechanoid, Body Armour
Attacks
Brawl 3+, Crossbow 4+

And the pictures:

The miniature is a converted Perry Miniatures Wars of the Roses infantryman, with added wire and technology from green stuff. The crossbow is made of different bits.

Great stuff. Gotta love those Mellowbots.
And... Alec Guinea...  lol

I find 7TV is great for giving me an excuse to purchase all those unusual miniatures I like but have no need for.
Below is a link to my blog. It's the place where I write uninteresting things about little toy soldiers. I do this because I refuse to grow up and behave like an adult.

Thanks!

The Surgeon's Personal Robo-Rodents

The Surgeon also invented his own type of Robo-rodents. They are basically the same as the robo-rodents in the core rulebook, but the Surgeon painted them in some nice colours and added his symbol, a question mark. These robotic creatures spy for him and perform assassination attempts to get rid of annoying enemies.

I just use the original 7TV robo-rodents stats for these.

The miniatures are metal casts of a green stuff cybermat I made myself. I still had a whole lot lying around so I painted these in bright colours for use with 7TV.

Penny Whistleton, the Surgeon's Assistant

Penny Whistleton is a hippie from the Surgeon's own time, and she helps him out a lot. She is the only "modern" human in the Surgeon's team, and she is armed with a sonic flower, constructed for her by the Surgeon.

Stats:
Penny Whistleton, Seductive Sidekick – Co-star – Nasty Piece of Work – 35 ratings
Move   Def   Hits  Str    Agi    Int   Mor
6   4   2   3   3   3   3
Special Effects
Luck (1), Fists of Fury, Cat Burglar, Seduce, Sidekick
Attacks
Brawl 3+, Sonic Flower (counts as pistol) 3+

The miniature is quite a heavy conversion, I used the upper half of an EM-4 biker, the lower half of the EM-4 reporter, I made the skirt longer with a lot of green stuff, and added the hand of a Perry Miniatures War of the Roses warrior since the hand was cut off a long time ago. I added some detail to the shoes with green stuff and I made a flower by sticking another piece of green stuff on a  needle and sculpting it.
