Leichtes Infanteriegeschütz.

Light Infantry gun is what my fumbling, useless, mostly-forgotten German is telling me. There was a mountain gun variant.

My favorite german gun of the war. It is squat and ugly and you can drag it along through the whole war!

It looks very quite heavy for relatively little fire power. I mean just look at all that riveted ironplate.

A bit heavy on rivets and the scalloping on the shield is a bit overdone....

No mistaking what it is though.

Yeah sorry about the heavy duty rivets, its a sod to get anything smaller without resorting to a microscope to place them!!! ;)

does make it easy to paint though, and if you don;t like the rivets, just file em all off.

cheers

I think it an very nice looking model and on it's own is making me think of re-prioritising my next projects!

I wonder if the rivets only look a little large 'cos it's a close up photo and actually "work" on the table.  I've often found that some features that look a little oversized look fine on the tabletop due to the weird effect looking at it from a player perspective has.

Hey... Let's not detract from the fact that it is still a good model. If the worst thing that can be said is "the rivets are big", there isn't much wrong with it.

I'd buy it if I did WW2 and I'm sure the sales will speak for themselves..

@Jim Hale,

I'm almost sure it was used in the SCW as well and you ARE intersted in that period aren't you?

Actually the Germans tended to use cms. 7.5cm as opposed to 75mm
