My trip in England
« on: 07 August 2013, 06:59:53 PM »
Hello everyone,

next week, the 14th of august, i plan on visiting several towns of England.
I will be in London (14th to 17th), then in Bath to visit Stonehenge and the city (from 17th to 19th) and finally in Liverpool (from 19 th to 21 th).

I plan on visiting monuments, city centers and big things but i d like to check the local miniatures stores. Do you guys know a couple of adresses?

Moreover do you know if there will be in these cities some miniatures activities where i could attend?

I m planning to do some coacf surfing so if you guys live in this cities and would like to welcome me for a night or two, that will be appreciated.
Waiting for your answers :D
Best regards.
Here you can see my stuffs!!!

You are just missing Britcon.

There arent that many bricks and mortar wargames shops in the UK anymore mate :-[ most are on-line.

Here is a club which will give you some links. It may be if you are driving you cuold divert around the uk to such as Foundry etc

Super nice guys! I'll check these out.

I won't drive, I ll be using train and bus mostly and I think I will focus my main travel on London - Bath (Stonehenge).

I just have one week so it will go very fast.

I would have loved meeting gamers and have a game or two but well, it might be for a next time.

Thanks again for your replies :)

I'm afraid I can't offer you a bed, or anything more than the previous posts re: gaming stores, but I've just got back from a week or so in that part of the West myself. I put a couple of the more history related snaps on my blog if you fancy a peek: http://geeklydigest.blogspot.co.uk/l

We're just back from London a couple of weekends ago.  The Shard is amazing, and well worth a visit, and the British Museum has a greap exhibition of artefacts from Pompeii and Herculaneum.

Orcs Nest is on Earlham Street just off Shaftesbury Avenue, and is a rather decent games shop.  It's very close to the London Graphics Centre on Shelton Street, which is a fantastic art supplies shop.  It's also just along the road from Forbidden Planet, the big comics and merchandise shop on Shaftesbury Avenue.  All are a five-minute walk from Covent Garden.

Leisure Games is THE RPG shop in London, but it's a bit of a journey out to Finchley on the Underground.  The shop is, IIRC, pretty close to the station.

Been years sice I lived in Liverpool, so I can't help with the games shops, but check out Williamson's tunnels - absolutely brilliant.  You can also get a tour round in a bright yellow DUKW (on land and in the water in Albert Dock), but be warned - two of them have sunk in the past few weeks!

I'm on the wrong side of the country, so sorry I can't help with anywhere to sleep.
