Not sure.  There had been mention about shipping late Feb...obviously that never occurred.  I'm just patiently waiting to see the end result.  (shrug)

So, is there any idea of a release date yet? Will it be available to non-kickstarter people?

Yep, there is a pre-sale campaign before the retail version is released:

About releasing dates, rumours say June/July.

Update translated from the facebook page with pictures of the board.
Quote
New update official HQ 25 th anniversary!

It has been quite since the last time you others we teach the board game heroquest 25 th anniversary but we believe that the effort that we have invested in he has borne fruit. Recapitulando a little bit about this topic remember that we are talking about a board of double face with the dungeon classic on the one hand and a few foreign ruins on the other. In addition, as a complement optional, we have a board modular, also double-face, that arises from the butchers of the dungeon classic and that account with a twist on the other side.

In many cases this second face of modular board only reflects an illustration alternative but in other we talk about stays completely different with a direct effect on the development of the game. So for example, the central room of the board happens to be a dangerous well with a narrow edge around them while some stretches of hallway are flooded delaying the progress of our heroes.

For a variety even greater, finally we had three pieces extras with a total of six rooms special that you can use to change the board basis or next to the board modular to expand its boundaries of the way prefiráis. But that is not everything, and here comes the surprise.

While Terminábamos of defining the boards we tried many different types of division between rooms, from simple lines to a number of ridiculously lengthy walls. We were trying to find a style that in certain scenarios would allow us to indicate what sections of wall were derruidas to unite stays between if, but finally found the solution in our specialty, the miniature.

That is why we can confirmaros since the box from heroquest 25 th anniversary will include without additional cost a sufficient number of pieces of escenografía of street corners semiderruidas; markers that signal walls sobrepasables and that obstruct partially that line of vision but do not hinder. We hope you like the idea, as we do with that encontréis the boards the end of your liking...

I think the optional modular option is a nice touch - that'll open it up to a ton of people - particularly if the rules support creating your own dungeon.  In essence I could play Hero Quest in my Dwarven Forge stuff it seems.  That'll be cool.

I just hope we get the product - that's all I'm concerned about at the moment, and I agree with the 26th anniversary joke.  lol

PS: I'll add that I really like the simplicity they stuck with in doing the modular boards and cards.  I think somewhere between this and Warhammer Quest is about right for modular tiles.  I think the upcoming Dungeon Saga cards look like an absolute train wreck by comparison - they went really over the top with the art applied to the boards, and in doing so kind of made the game look worse in my opinion.

^Dungeon Saga style tiles which are waaaaaay too busy for me.  I understand the idea is that they're to provide some 3D effects but I think it looks pretty bad.  Stick to doors and treasure as 3D items and I'm fine with much simpler tiles.

As a fan since childhood, I really, really want this game to succeed; But it's so confusing! Half of the actual info is in Spanish, which certainly does not help.

There seem to be three versions of the game:

1) Crowdfunded version (through a Spanish Kickstarter clone)
2) Limited edition preorder (Apparently you can now pre-order through a more reliable source rather than from gamezone directly: http://goo.gl/u5tO7P )
3) Retail version

What are the differences between versions though? Will the limited edition still be available after the retail version ships? Will the game ever ship - it's been seemingly delay, dispute, delay, no info for ages, delay, dispute... urgh.

Additionally, not a lot is known about the rules. We've seen a couple of miniatures (which look GREAT!) but rumor has it that the rules are pretty much non existant and the game provides a sandbox style ruleset to make your own game with.

Can someone shed a little light on the matter?

We have seen more than a couple miniatures, to be fair.

Last summer there was a leaked beta version of the rules in Spanish, Gamezone has confirmed they are done by now (a couple months ago they were finishing the advanced rules and finishing playtesting missions).

Limited edition is only for crowfunding and pre-order (it's the same), after that only the retail version will be available.

And currently there is a huge delay, but no legal dispute.

EDITED: There is strong rumor coming from shops, apparently the pre-order version will hit the shelves 30th July (and Gamezone did promise the crowfunding version would be shipped before preorders).

Yes, you're right about the miniatures after some research we've seen a fair bit more than I thought; And I still think they look great. Do you think that now is a good time to preorder?

Yes, I think so!

Gamezone has said they'll be launching a new crowfunding for the first HQ expansion next Christmas. Now that they have the experience and equipment to produce it at home, the idea is getting all the miniature desgns beforehand to speed up production.

Space Crusade would be next...

That'd be nice...if it's true.  While I've been happy with the pics I've seen etc., the lack of communication has been really bad.

Yep. That's been terrible. I'm still holding out hope though.
On the plus side communication has always been terrible so it's not like some crowd funding that have stopped talking because of bad news.

Some eye candy...

That's the gargoyle and the "sierpe" (some kind of big nasty snake/worm).

There are rumours about the sierpe having a modular body so it can be assembled to fit the movement through corridors.
