Great review. Lovely figures really! If I was going to do an Africa project I am pleased to see that there is a go-to range being nicely supported.

Sidearm (pistol) only besides the MG.
Best wishes,

Once more, thanks all for your kind words. :)

Sidearm (pistol) only besides the MG.
The same info's given on the leaflet, and that's where my knowledge about these things ends. ;)
Also I would've assumed that the weight and size of the MG (or any other SAW for that matter) doesn't allow for carrying a rifle as well.

The lack of shorts actually adds versatility (beyond the actual desert campaign). Their inclusion also would have required the additional option of shirts/rolled-up sleeves, and that's probably a deal-breaker. Thus something I don't bemoan, even if it would be a nice-to-have.

Really great review and you should get it in print. The painted figures look superb too.

The comparison shot is very useful I knew Perry figures were small(er), then other makes but compared to the Bolt Action figure they look tiny. I'm sure you could get away with mixing them in and if I ever eventually get round to doing the Med/N. Africa I would like to mix them with Artizan. But know I'm not too sure!

Love your colour palette and love your painting style. Great work and a superb reference for when I finally crack and live up to my handle. Cheers.

There is a way to get around the rifle problem, which is to make them into Panzergrenadiers, they had a pair of MG-34 in each squad.

Thanks, guys!
Goosegog, sorry for my belated reaction. To be honest, there is no need for mixing manufacturers. If you go for Perries, you could build pretty much everything required from a couple of boxes. (Of course, that's not to excuse the shortage of certain items in a single box.) Add an 8th Army set, and our options are multiplied. After all, though, if you keep Artizan and Perry in separate squads, I'd say it would still work well enough. A lick of paint levels most such issues, anyway.

15thpanzer, glad to be of service. To balance things, I'd recommend a look at what Lardy Rich has to say: http://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=59517.0

Patrick R, that's true. However, for the time being I'll stick with the footsloggers. They may not be as stylish as their armoured comrades, but they need some love as well. ;)
