Hejaz Express
« on: 01 October 2013, 04:48:52 PM »
Hope you enjoy this pic

Turkish railway engineers and a young Adrian Pasha (under the command of Fahreddin Pasha) keep a watchful eye as a passenger Hejaz Railway train bound for Medina passes an unidentified halt (possibly Wadi Rutm) late 1916.

No sign of Lawrence ….......yet  >:D

BTW The engine is a (SLM) Swiss 2-8-0 locomotive one of ten built for the Hejaz Railway in service from 1912.
And further from my train spotting guide apparently they were originally numbered 87–96. :D

Nice attention to detail. Was this created for a game or are trains one of your interests?

The engine is a very cheap toy one available only at Christmas. The coach is from Dixon miniatures, I painted it up to the colour scheme of the Hejaz railway (with a little inspiration from David Leen)
Figures are a mix of Woodbine, GWM, Artizan (Arab), Copplestane & Brigade. All man jack of em painted by none other than solid chap Mr Hargreaves ......gowd bless im

The healthy humour of the honest Tommy. Don't worry my boy, if you should falter, remember that Captain Ignatieff and I are behind you.
