Greetings from Vienna
« on: October 08, 2013, 07:10:09 PM »
Hi everybody,
I have lurked here from time to time but decided to join only recently. I recognize also several members I know of from somewhere else.

I am an Italian living in Vienna since a few years. Started wargaming with 40k many moons ago then I became a historical gamer. My main interest is by far in 20mm WWII, even if I keep on being fascinated by other periods&scales (that I used to game years ago): 15mm Ancient&Medievals as well as Napoleonic (I don’t know why but masses of troops come to my mind always in 15mm…).

Due to working reasons I had a break of a few years away from the tabletop, but now I would like to start again wargaming, also to give a direction to my erratic and irregular painting inspiration… in fact I am looking around for someone interested here in Vienna, and even if I would prefer WWII, I would consider everything. I enjoy well painted figs and I mostly appreciate not merely competitive approach to gaming. In other words, I like campaigns and projects more than the isolated occasional game…but I am flexible..So, if some like-minded (English-speaking, sadly my German is still awful and communication would be rather frustrating) fellow is there, just let me know.

In the meantime I will enjoy the forum, exploring the many threads of interest for me in the various categories and post something of my work as soon as I can!!

Hello Arshak, welcome here and in vienna!

The HTT Scene in Austria is pretty active, ranging from FOG to GdB, from Bolt Action to check your six, from muskets & tomahawks to saga, and there are also regular Events for FOW. Fear not, in our Group (and most of the others i know of) the competative approach is non existent, having a good time with fellow Gamers is our Goal (sometimes leading to not gaming at all but having a good Chat).  ;)

Maybe the best way to get in touch with fellow Gamers is the vivat (insert shameless ad):

Hello, welcome.

I may spend a day or two in either Prague or Vienna in December and I should decide soon. Do you want to affect my choice? ;)
