How to make a ruin building very cheap

A very cheap and easy way of making a ruin building, its not hard and it really does not matter how bad you cut ect, its a ruin building you can't go wrong, took 3 days to create two 28mm buildings and its great for Bolt Action or F.O.F rules and for many periods of history

As always i have put up a A4 sheet for anybody who needs the instructions to download on the pc to make it much easy for anybody to follow.

Awesome and inspiring tutorial. I like the idea of blue tack coated with nail polish to harden it. I may have to steal that for small bit sculpting, too...

Old school, baby! lol

I remember Airfix magazine in the late 70's/ early 80's (before modellers discovered miliput) and all the conversions were plasticine hardened with banana oil/nail varnish or balsa wood covered with a mix of cellulose dope and talcum powder!
Measure with a micrometer, mark with chalk, cut with an axe, hammer to fit, paint to match!

Nice building ;)

Where do you get this black foam ? I'm always interested in cheap ways of making buildings. I've got a future scifi project where this kind of material would be usefull.

thanks

En français ca s'appelle "le carton plume"  ;)

You can also google for Kadapak. That's the brand they sell at our local artists' supply stores.

I know "carton plume"  lol when I saw the pics, I was thinking it was some cheaper bare foam. Carton plume is expensive.

I wouldn't call €9,21 for a plate sized 100 X 70 cm expensive.
