Realm of Chaos: 03/03/2017 Zuufos Warriors
« on: 19 October 2013, 03:41:46 AM »
Here is about half of the warband of Bezrond the Belligerant, champion of Zuuf.

The other half of the warband will be lead by his "twin" Fezrond (he got the duplication chaos attribute). There is also a banner of Zuuf but I havent painted the banner bearer yet.

Pretty cool, I like the mock-horse guy in the back right corner.

The Wassailers are a SPLENDIDLY sinister looking group...cool names too. I love the colors you chose for their robes; AND your brushwork & bases are TERRIFIC. GREAT WORK!

The Sacrifice looks like she's enjoying the outing with the Lads.

Nice work.
 :)
Are they all Otherworld cultists or are there other brands mixed in with them?

Thanks its nice to get comments from people whos stuff I have been admiring for some time.

The horsie was a freebie I got with a Fenris order. The two slightly different style cultists and the naked cultist are Hasslefree. The rest are Otherworld. The remaining otherworld fella will be a standard bearer. The guy to the right of Bezrond is one of the Otherworld cult leaders which was also a freebie to compensate for delay, presumably on acount of kisckstarter stuff, which were only small delays at the end of the day, so i am very happy. Really i should have used him as a sorcerer champion in his own right but atm he is acting as some kind of sorcerers apprentice/book holder to Bezrond. Bezrond himself and his mystery imp familiar are old citadel miniatures, they are from just before the Realm of Chaos era so strictly speaking there are actually no RoC minis here at all. Hopefully some painted ones will appear here soon.

Fortunately the citadel sorcerer had a variant with horns and fangs which i can use for the twin. Thats perfect because he has horns and vampire chaos attributes, possibly the result of some creative dice rolling i dont remember. He will also have a random spellcasting familiar. The random spellcasting familiar is a special creation of the chaos patron Zuuf. I may do a kind of swarm of them in the style of nurglings at some stage, since I am inundated with familiars and it would be nice to employ them somehow.

Just received a second hand copy of Lost and the Damned yesterday so I have been devouring it and reminiscing. I am a bit surprised by wild differences between the two RoC books. The whole game had changed a lot in the intervening period. I will probably "organise" my stuff more along the lines of the first book and warhammer armies, but we shall see.

Love the colour scheme. Had something similar in mind, myself but maybe with grey skintones. :D

I'm still trying to decide who to have as a leader for my chaos warband, Minotaur, centaur, human? Maybe one of each.

You could always try the lucky dip:

Quote from: RoC
A roll on any of these tables may be replaced with a roll on the universal creatures table.
:)

I just had a roll and got a wolf-rat. Didnt even know you could get them.
On a slightly more serious note, i think the standard champion system gives you more options than the beastman or minotaur in terms of diversity of followers. Although the mintaurs do have more access to big monsters and things.

The Otherworld cultists look great.
It just occurred to me that one could also use old Night Goblin figs with these, as dregs, hunchback minions or something similar.
Black Tree has the old Harlequin ones that are realistic enough (-as in not too cartoony) and sculpted by Kevin Adams, who did these cultists.
If you don't believe in lead, you're already dead.

The black tree ones are relatively cheap too... Of course relative in miniatures usually means compared to GW. I'd hate to see what relatively expensive is then  lol
