I disagree. This is Fantasy and this hobby should be fun. We should not dictate "rules" about how things should be. If the sculpt looks like the flesh would be good with green, paint it green. If green makes you happy, paint it green.  Foundry Orcs are often painted purple and they look great that way.  I painted my Orcs black.

I think this green Orc looks smashing and thank you for taking the time to post a painting guide.  Hope you had a great Orctober!!!

For me Orc's should be painted a dark brown to black. Although i like to give my own "artistic" ideas to the miniatures that i paint, i like to stick to the original on this one.

My favourite discussion! Yeah!  :D

But as much as I agree with the "not green orc" (apart from WH or WH40k, in which orcs are green) that's not the point here, I'm afraid. It's about how to paint them green. And for that, TWD, thank you very much. I think it's always nice to look at how people do their thing.   :)

Back in the old days, before history, when I was a lad, I used Humbrol German Camouflage Green for my Orc's.

Paint what you want , how you want and if you're happy, that should be the only thing to worry about.

He looks good, nice tones around the arm muscles. The horn's good too.

It's always helpful to read how other folks do their painting. Great muscle tones and thanks for the how-to!

Well they're GW Orcs for use in Warhammer and GW Orcs have been green for thirty or so years - and I've been painting them for most of that time so I'm not about to change now.

My LotR Orcs are various brown shades, but GW Greenskins will always be, well, green. At least as far as I'm concerned.
:)

Thanks for all the feedback, chaps, glad you found it useful.
