Graffiti help

Hi,

I feel like I need to put a bit of graffiti on some of my '70s scenery. Does anyone have any hints or resources?

I'm not too interested in 'cool,' big pieces, just petty vandalism sort of stuff. And I don't have an airbrush. I'd rather not use decals.

Your scenery set in Britain? Suppose the obvious easy stuff would just be things like "NF", "CND" (and peace signs) , "Quit Ireland/ IRA" names of football teams/ gangs, etc, tailored to suit the locale. The advantages being it doesn't need to be neat (or even spelt correctly) and looks good in simple white paint on brick.

Yeah, that's exactly the sort of stuff I had in mind. I just wondered if anyone had techniques for making it actually look a bit like spray-canned writing, without using a spray gun. All my efforts look like someone's painted it on with a brush (coz they did!).

Get a 'White Gel Pen' I purchase mine from Art supply shops, where they cost about £2 to £3. They tend to last me about a year, which is not bad as I use them for lots of things:-
Slogans on Russian tanks; Checked trousers (Celts); Tunic hems; Details on Samuri clothing; White wall tyres, oh and ...... graffitti on walls.
Other colours are also available (and great for Tartans, Victorian suits etc.)

You could use a combo of stencils (made from from tape and paper) and using rattle cans. It depends how detailed you want to get it, but might be useful for larger pieces/symbols.
