1:56 is good but 1:48 to 1:50 need love too  :D

Also, the post on the Canadians in 20mm identifies the need for a 1:56 to 1:48th M113 Recce to do FIRST CLASH (Go 4 CMBG)!

Now that UNDERR FIRE is releasing its Bundeswehr we have an even better reason to add to the German vehicle range.  Get those votes in for the Spahpanzer Luchs  lol

Also, has anyone consider the Jadgpanzer Jaguar I or Jaguar II?  I built one using a Tamiya Jagdpanzer Kanone as a base but it would have been nice to avoid the sculpting, filing, puttying....

I'm currently reading Danger Close, 3 Para in Afghanistan, where there is mention of Engineer vehicles being used to fill HESCOs in a District Centre to create better fortifications than just concrete and mud brick walls. Does anyone know what vehicles the Brit Sappers and US Engineers use to dig, move, fill in this theatre?
Cheers,

Hey, I went through the list again and it dawned on me - we're missing an iconic APC in use in the Gulf War and elsewhere in Africa.  We need the Chinese Type 89 (BMP 1 knockoff with 12.7mm Hmg ACAV like cupola) and the Type 63.  These are also still in use today all over the world...

I am thinking either 1:56 or 1:48 scale (considering I use 1:50 Imprint Armor 1:48 is better  :))

Thoughts?

I like Italeri's 1/72 scale vehicle series dedicated for gamers; fast assembly models, but at the  moment it covers WWII.
It would be great to have fast assembly 1/72 modern vehicles like US and Soviet (Russian) tanks, APC's and trucks.

Most modelling manufacturers has modern 1/72 vehicles in their range but its designated rather for fine scale modellers ( models with over 100 pcs).

Some things to add to the list.
the CV-90. Seems to be the new go to light non-tank/APC for most of NATO at the moment.
Would also like to see it with different weapons load outs because not all of them are armed with the same main guns.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Combat_Vehicle_90

And the Turret less Bradley. Which is slated to replace the m113.

"Peace" is that brief, glorious moment in history when everybody stands around reloading.

Old thread I know but it is stickied!

After the Object 279 I'm lacking inspiration for my next build...

I've got the Panhard EBR to finish, it looks like I need the AMX-13 turret too.
After that I'm tempted by the S-Tank... but I'm unsure.  Inspire me! 8)

The S-Tnak is currently winning.  I'm wondering about a Bolt Action force using one as a STuG.

If there was a range of 28mm Cold War Swedes I’d be as keen as mustard for an S-Tank but in their absence...... not so much and I did try and curry support for such a range a year or two back.

Dull it might be but I’d quite like an early-ish T-64 for my Russians and a proper T-62 with the add on armour for Afghanistan. A Hornet with Malkara would be nice and I could use Chinese Cold War Armour. Type 62, Type 63 and especially a Type 63/ YW 531 APC . The APC is cute and they exported a lot of them.

Now whilst this is arguably the wrong board, if you fancy a challenge my pre-War Czechoslovakian army would dearly love a PA II ‘Turtle’ armoured car. That would be an interesting modelling challenge for you.

The S Tank's maybe not the most viable miniature for a manufacturer as I don't believe they ever saw combat. Whilst the same could be said of other vehicles of course, and well the whole Cold War gone Hot scenario, the Swedes don't strike me as being as appealing as other forces. However, that thing had a long service life, so could be used for a few conflicts I suppose. Probably a Jagdpanzer IV in BA terms, or whatever has a long 75mm (the armour was paper thin however).

I did see someone making a T-62 for personal use on one of the Facebook groups, but nothing commercial. There was a T-64 in production in 1/48th a good while ago by a French company, though by the time I found it they'd gone bust. With Kings Hobbies and Games retooling I've been asking the owner to make a T-64 (he's currently putting together a line of modern Ukrainians), so we'll see what happens on that front for a 1/50th scale one.

Of course I assume that Richard's just making these for personal use,  so I guess these aren't massive considerations. Even if we see something being sold, well, Tim's range is varied enough that anything could find it way in there. :P

Though if that BTR-152 was in 1/50th I would have totally nabbed one for my moderns. :)

I send stuff to Jeff at Die Waffenkammer for casting generally.
Good point on the infantry availability.

I was looking at a BTR-152 in 1/56...  but lost interest.
I did the BTR-40 and that was a right pain with all the angles.

Perhaps the AMX-13 would be abetter bet...
