Greetings from San Francisco Bay Area
« on: 03 November 2013, 10:46:26 PM »
Just wanted to say Hello, and make my very first post since registering.  :)

My name is Jamii, im from the San Francisco area. (Actually, im in a small city called Vallejo inside the bay, right on the water, but no one's ever heard of Vallejo, CA so i just say 'San Francisco' and people go 'oh, okay i know where that is')

Anyhoo, ive actually have been visiting this site for a while now reading people's posts, just now finally signed up. Guess i didnt feel i had anything important to say up until now.

I was reading a post here the other day about Jiang Shi Hopping Vampires, which was interesting because i was actually thinking about making some Chinese Hopping Vampires, except i wanted to make them modular and on the 32mm scale.

I was wondering what people thought of 32mm scale?

It seems theres a lot now being made on the 32mm scale.

okay, take care.  :D

Welcome to LAF jamii.

I prefer the 28mm "heroic" size. That's 28mm to the EYES, and maybe 30-31mm to the top of the head.

And there are many wargamers that feel the same about that "scale creep" that is making GIANT miniatures.

Hope that helps.

And may you have a long and merry stay with us.

I know you're too old to play with toy soldiers. So give them to me... NOW!

Howdy!  I agree that heroic 28mm figs a better in my opinion.  That way, people with existing collections can add yours more easily.  Some folks don't like scale variation in their collections.  Eager to see those vampires!   :)

Hi jamii! WELCOME ABOARD the Lead Adventure Forum. Have a FUN stay!

I would venture to say that most Old War Gamers like moi have heard of Vallejo...it was Jack Scruby's locale....you live on Sacred Ground.
I'd NEVER join a club that would have me as a member.  G.Marx

The main store here where everyone gets their stuff from is called 'The Gamescape'.

Once more I have to admit I was wrong...this is a major occupation with moi. Although I do know where Vallejo is, Jack Scruby was in Visalia, CA. Sorry about that.

Wecome to LAF!

Some good 28mm Hopping Vampires would be cool for my Mr. Vampire scenarios.

In general I avoid miniatures that are "32mm scale" because they do not normally fit with my other figures.

HAVE FUN

okay, fine 28mm then :D

But what about Malifaux for example?

how about 30mm, then were toggling between the two.
