Zombicide 2+ project
« on: 08 November 2013, 06:20:10 PM »
Thanks to being abroad I only got my Zombicide 2 pile of stuff today; which is ideal, as I have a spot of fever and a migraine combined, and I can take photos of myself to use as painting guide for the zombies. Argh.

I am posting this project because it's my first new genre of models since I joined LAF, so this marks the start of what could be my only well-recorded project.

It's a break from my usual stuff, and the size of the models - much smaller than I am used to - has opened up some possibilities, such as adding the old Maltese bus model which no ork could ever squeeze into.

What I would like: having all models painted by December (implausibe); adding a few vehicles, including the cars which are included as card counters; and having a 3D version of the Prison scenario tiles (improbable).
Reality - that IS a lot of zombies - and dogs! - to paint.

I am also painting up my zombicide horde. And it is indeed a daunting task! I have resorted to speed painting with inks and washes (have a look in my sig).

I will look forward to see what you come up with. If you find any suitable cars to replace the card ones please do share.

Will do, Dr. Z.
I've seen your thread and have been taking notes - and am looking forward to seeing the berserkers.

I am currently doing research: besides Dr Zombie's and some other threads here, I have seen Shaun of the Dead and am reading the imdb page for The Walking Dead. And I've seen the trailer for World War Z. That should do for now.

Dr Zombie: here is a potential vehicle - not a car, but a bus, for which there are no rules. Ah well...

It's an unbranded souvenir model; the second pic shows it dismantled. The seats are out of proportion to the rest, but this is not too obvious when the model is assembled.

The models are 28mm-ish, right? What do you usually do?
Ask at the LAF, and answer shall thy be given!

28mm! But also 15mm, 10mm, 6mm and 2mm...
Seriously; the average Zombicide zombie or survivor are much slimmer and smaller than the models I usually work on (and not just my stockpile of GW stuff) - even the fatties seem lithe by comparison! The feel like tall 25mm rather than 28mm.
However what I really meant was that this is my first foray in Zombie/PA stuff, although I did paint fantasy zombies some years back.

Meanwhile, I'm going through the rule book, and it feels like a blend of Space Hulk with Talisman, with more zombies and collaborating players.

I despair when I see people showing ninety or more painted zombies produced in one sitting!

Tally so far: a single toxic fatty and berserker runner undercoated; one regular walker gradually (at a zombie-snail's pace) nearing completion.

But at least it's still progress of sorts. :`

One walker done, one toxic fatty in progress.

And - something which is even rarer than progress - played my first zombicide game with the wife, who loved the police cars in particular - even when a zombie appeared out of the glove compartment of one.
