Anyone for Dinovember?
« on: 08 November 2013, 09:58:45 PM »
Michael Awdry has declared Dinovember with this and this.

Anyone else want to join the fun?  I suggest we use this thread to keep tabs on what we do.

Ironically, I have several dinosaurs I need to paint up. Not sure how much time I will have for them in the next couple weeks: Besides the holiday, I'm trying to get several VSF minis painted. And on top of all that, I'm writing a fan-made supplement for gaming Cadillacs & Dinosaurs (which, I guess, fits the theme.)

Here's (most) of my dinosaur collection, by the way:

Here are some of mine. Still WIP. Have some details and washes still to do. (Ral Partha/Iron Wind figs)

Here's the plastic pile...most acquired from discount and thrift stores, flea markets, etc. Lots of Michaels' 40% coupons. I pity the hunters that run into this bunch...

Let's not forget the mammals..

I've got a pack of Splintered Light Miniatures raptors that will make good smaller carnivores in 28mm. Maybe I should prime them up and join in on the fun. The paint jobs people have posted look great, by the way!

Just about every movie can be improved by dinosaurs chasing humans...it is a cinematic fact!  lol

Go for it! (I have those raptors as well - and yeah they really are more accurate in 28mm scale than the Hollywood JP raptors)
SLM does some very nice stuff  - I've got a bunch of their fantasy 15s on the paint table.

Loving the Dinovember.

Look out for the foil Walking with Dinosaurs BBC Minis. (Randomly packed unfortunately) But some good stuff in there if you're lucky. UK Tesco £2 or direct from BBC. The scale fits the foil packet but they are of a reasonable detail and plastic quality.

Click on the pic for a bit of a better look. I've got the Ceratopsians they are nice.

I'm in! Just put three dinos under the primer (one's a cyborg though, no idea if he's gonna be happy stomping around the pulp board...) and I'm in the process of digging out a dino I primed ages ago then lost somewhere in the mancave.

I'm glad I don't live near a Tesco because those WWD blind box toys look like I'd blast a lot of wedge on them trying to collect the lot.
