20mm SCW Republican Infantry Released

The first sets of our 20mm SCW Republican infantry have already started coming out from foundry.

As stated in our previous announcements, this our first 20GEF001 Republican Infantry set consists of 15 white-metal figures (13 infantrymen and two NCOs), all in different poses. Some in charging attitude with fixed bayonet, others skirmishing or cautiously advancing. NCOs are armed with Labora-Fontbernat SMGs, privates with Moisin-Nagant rifles.

Set has been conceived as to show a reasonably good uniformity, accordingly to both Republican regulations and mid-late war graphic evidence. Far from the variegated, sketchy appearance too often attributed to Republican Regular forces. There is some uniform variation indeed, but it has been limited to in-quarter overalls (or "mono"). Same for headgear too: although some Trubia and Czech helmets can be seen, Adrian helmets are majority.

Sold by the 15 figures box, priced at €15.95 the box. They can already be ordered direct from our website; or alternatively, you can ask for them from any of the shops/distributors listed on this webpage.

For sure. Only that we haven't got room enough in the Pipeline for showing these. Let me explain future plans in few words:

First of all, we'll try and put on tabletop all the most basic stuff. That is, what is needed for having two armies kicking hard at each other.

1 - Republican Infantry (done)
2 - Republican Command & Weapons (doing)
3 - Republican Field Artillery (thinking)
4 - Republican AT gun (planning)

At some time during development of this first series (most likely between 2 and 3) , we're going to start its Nationalist counterpart:

5 - Nationalist Infantry
6 - Nationalist Command & Weapons
7 - Nationalist Field Artillery
8 - Nationalist AT gun

Once both basic series are started, we're then going to descend into more specifical troop types --always developing them by the pair, i.e. one Republican and one Nationalist alongisde.

On the Nationalist side, the most likely series to be developed at this stage is Italian Corpo Truppe Volontarie, or CTV.
Otherwise, there are two immediate alternatives on the Republican side:
A) Republican Women (I mean, not just milicianas but also female Sanitary personnel, war reporters, drivers...)
B) French International Brigades.

As you can imagine, this is not a matter of just a few weeks --but a bunch of months instead. A little patience is required

A very sensible approach Lluis that I can only applaud. As I said before I have already invested too much in a 28mm SCW army but if these ever become available in 28mm (1/56th) I'll buy multiples of each set.

Mine arrived the other day and there excellent, lots of detail and variety. Will try to post some pics when I paint them up, highly recommended!
