I must have bought a third of the models they had for sale. The others were mostly taxicabs like the M20, or various vans that didn't appeal to me (mostly specialistic types like road sweepers-I think, it had an odd rig attached to it-, or police vehicles). If I can't find any more for sale elsewhere I'll probably head back and buy up what they have left. I just didn't want to buy twenty of the same car though (I'm intending these mostly for use as wrecks or as scrap yard style car walls, yes, for shame!). Um... to quote myself when buying any lovely looking models of this type when asked what I'll be using them for, "oh, I'll be taking a hammer to them" *pulls cheesy grin, to the seller's look of aghast.

And yes, that thing is a luxury! Why the shop was stocking twenty of the M20s, but just a single M21 perplexes me. Perhaps the stockists is a history buff and thought to sell these cars in the same manner that they were supplied back when the USSR was churning them out. ;)

Heh, given that they're in a perfect scale and £19 less than the common Tamiya kits, yeah, I'll see about not eating this week and spend all my pennies on these lovely little things.

Ah, and sorry if anyone's wanting to know the manufacturer of these in case they want to hunt down their own. I do try and find the source of my models for posterity (don't you just hate reading a blog and wondering where the models came from, only to find its years since it was last updated and its creator's long gone?), but like I said, the writing's all in Cyrillic (Russian, Ukrainian and Kazakh). Just search for the relevant vehicle's name and scale on ebay throws up these models sharpish, though they seem to be going for at least £5-7 each. =/

I picked some up a couple of weeks ago. My Russian is very rusty, but it seems they were originally from a magazine called something like "Service Automobiles" which was sold in Russia, Belarus, Ukraine and Kazakhstan.

The box of one has an importer's label on it:

4EVERYWARE STOCKLOTS
BV DE SONMAN 30
5066 GJ MOERGESTAL
HOLLAND

@Cultist of Sooty

Ah, so they're old magazine stock that's been doing the rounds about Europe eh? Its nice to know that there's a history behind the stuff that crops up in that shop (I mean the decent miniatures, not the cheap plastic crap that they usually sell). ^^

Cop out update again. Ref. screw you coursework.

Not post-apocalyptic perse, but I thought I'd post them anyway. Oi its my damn blog!

A friend needed a pair of Fen Beasts for his Warmaster Albion army. Pity the original models are OOP. I threw these together for him, as well how difficult would it be to sculpt a bog beast that's just scraps of muck? They're not painted/ based because I thought he'd rather do that himself (ie so they fit in with his style more), but doesn't have the time much lately to do that, so I'll see what I can do on that end.

* The rear one's going to need a new head btw. I rushed that one a bit, so its recessed face isn't so apparent. Meh.

I flung together a couple of filing cabinets. As they're busted up old things I wasn't too bothered about the eveness of the faces. I know that Copplestone Castings made a set of filing cabinets to go with their Kiss Kiss Bang Bang range, but couldn't see any on their site. What I'd like to find are ones which can be put together from snap fit MDF sheets, though these are probably more economical.

As I may be making interior spaces later on I've left them loose for the moment (sand looks a bit out of place down in a vault...). I'll see about putting together a set of office related terrain for use in that Vault that's planned, plus just for the buildings that I have interiors for.

And my camera seems to have bunked itself somehow (its displaying horizontal lines across the picture and the brightness is off). WTF? Eugh...

They look cool, maybe 1 or 2 with the Frontpanel intact would be nice so its look a bit like a Billy Board :-) For the Interior of the Vault I can give you the hint to look at Hirstarts for the Industrial / machines Accessoriesmold (Mold#326). Very nice stuff in their for the Computers, Devices and so on.

I'm planning on using the Copplestone Castings filling cabinets (which are intact) if I can get a hold of them. Otherwise I'll stick together some out of Lego bricks or something ( I don't want to waste plasticard just building cubes). I prefer the broken down cabinets as they fit the setting better, though I could do with making some drawers too at some point (they're just more difficult to make).

I'm using Hirst Arts mold for my current Vault. The guy making the pieces for me only has a few sets though, and has been delayed with hospital treatments. Its my intention to make a modular terrain set made up of various pieces. A wall like this one could serve as a corridor (when stuck along with another opposite it), a room (when a centre piece is attached), or whatever. I'd love to get back and work on it (though the amount of lose terrain-desks, magazines, wall divers-I'd need to make would be hellish. ...I hate. Hate. Terrain sparse tables). ^^

Fenris games also makes some nice filing cabinets

I am in awe of the speed at which your collection grows  :D
Hirst art molds do make great Vault terrain pieces, which reminds me I need to cast more and try to make more pieces for my vault. I love the way your thread and others inspire me to get back to my own fallout project.

@Constable Bertrand

The guy casting up the bits for me asked exactly which pieces I needed and in what quantities. So I created a little table of how many of each piece I would need based on their use. Based on that table I threw up what I'd need for a smallish Vault. ...He baulked a little at this and progress has been iffy since then. =P

@ Anpu

I'll see about sticking together some more filing cabinets today at some point. I'm in no mood to paint (my knee went through a picture frame when searching the loft for useful stuff. ...Ow), but building stuff's fun in any case. I think there's stall that stocks Fenris at one of the shows I'll be going to in a few months, so I'd rather buy items there than order them (one, to cut on shipping, and two, because what I save on the shipping means buying more bits).

The amount of Fallout/post-apocalyptic threads that have been appearing lately is giving the older ones a boot up the arse eh? Pull out your Wattz 2000's and have it it! ^^

...I mean thank you. Good show sir.

...

I had a look about a car boot sale today. Due to a light drizzle there wasn't many stalls there (note: I live in Scotland. Light drizzle is a constant). What I picked up was a wind up car from Cars (Doc Hudson I think. The old one), to go along with the two model kits I already have of it (one of which I turned into a Legion chariot ...which I keep forgetting to finish). Other than that I also bought in three modern station wagons of a low quality, but they'll suit as wrecks in contemporary games I suppose. Slim pickings. After a crawl about my loft I came away with some 50's era (I think ...my dad was born in the 60's and there's photos of him sitting in one of them about my house) British vans. No hammers up there though, so those little thing will remain intact for the near future. ;)

I'm now (once the cash clears) the proud owner of 27 toilets. ...Woo!  ;D

...Uh, ref the Compiled List of Fallout Miniatures thread on that one.

These were intended to be larger sets of filing cabinets. However the slats that divide the drawers turned out to be a bother to position without using an alternative building method (which I wasn't comfortable with doing with the material at hand), so I just turned them into regular shelves instead. Had I set out to make shelves originally I would have changed the details a little (like adding a foot at the bottom like the ones in game), but I suppose they work well enough as is. I'll put together some more with busted up shelves at some point. These ones need filling now I think.

A pair of art deco desks. ...I put these together because... Well because I could. I'll need to smooth out the edges a bit, but I was just using loose plasticard for these, so I wasn't caring much. =P

And an office desk. The *not Fallout* terminal's made by Ainsty castings (the set also includes ones for wall mounting too, plus he also makes some other Fallout-y bits).

Sidetracking myself here because I can't be bothered painting. I'll see about putting together more office crap throughout the week. I've came up with a temporary fix for my camera's issues (involving me quickly turning a lightbulb on and off... yeah, temporary), but I'll be trawling pawn shops through the week for a new one I suspect.

I can't remember if I showed off the Doc Hudsons I found at my local toy store. Perfectly scaled plastic kits for £5 each!

Nice office stuff - I've been considering some shelves but I spent much of my teenage years scratchbuilding with plasticard and developed an allergy to gluing more to my skin than the piece I was making.
If you'd like an apocalyptic monster in 28mm, throw me a PM and I'll think it over.

The kits with the blue sprues? Uh... they look something like this after put through a vat of radioactive goo. I've left the other kit unbuilt for future use, whilst the one I bought today's a single piece wind up toy from the looks of it (ie wreck material).

I once glued a can of Irn Bru to my hand. I shrugged and carried on drinking it. ...Hey the only glue worth its salt are those lovely red warning labels printed all over their surfaces and words like "industrial" and "not for human use". ^^

The very same!

I had to do a number on the windows to get rid of the silly eyes!
Nice conversion though, when I've gathered some more opportunities to play games, I might start up a few road gangs.. c:

A few more filing cabinets were slapped together yesterday. I opted for basic drawers with these ones (just two pieces of plasticard, no runners or sides, like the Fenris Games ones). Once they're painted I may stick in some bits of moldy paper for effect (and 5.56 bullets. Always finding those in filing cabinets).

And more of those office tables too. They're lacking clutter for the moment as I don't know whether to allow them to be placed on any of their faces (like barricades). Drawers on these too.

These are uh.. toilets? ...Maybe? My camera's knacked with the exposure being set way too high for some reason. With these being white too their difficult to photograph. I throw these up anyway to say that my package from Dr H over on Dakka Dakka (I posted about him in the Fallout miniatures thread) arrived today. The one on the left's supposed to be a makeshift campfire (which I think I took from one of the games). I've 27 of these (yeah 27), so other than regular ones just sitting about in homes I'll have plenty to use as things like flower pots (well radioactive mushrooms) or sources of loot (why do people keep hiding their good stuff in these things?).

Many a new toy was bought last night. Amongst that I picked up a squad of Troopers in Combat Armour, an Exo Suit and a pair of Black Ops soldiers in American Stealth Armour for the Enclave (whom I haven't begun painting yet, but with the upcoming robots would be on par with the NCR in their numbers-discounting all the unpainted other faction stuff I have though).

I'm behind on my courswork (blame the lecturer for not informing me that two weeks of work wasn't necessary) so I'm cut short on how much time I'm willing to spend on my models. Sure I can find time to do some work on them, but that's only extending to making more (which I'm not admitting is a problem just yet). Actually painting the things takes a bit more effort from me unfortunately. I'd like to finish off the robots soon, but that's up to how much sugar I intake. =P
