Wastelanders
Pack Brahmin

No, neither's called Bess. I couldn't find any string (well about my desk, I know there's a sewing kit in the cupboard), so those Brahmin are carrying their loads unsecured evidently. Also I happened to forget to paint "H2o" on the barrels too, silly me. =P

Caravan Guard (Wizards of the Coast Start Wars)

I gave this line of models a look on Ebay, and apparently they're worth something where complete. Well this was complete, and I bought it for a pound, so screw you guy who collects these things.

Now the shack which I'm working on's almost finished, but unfortunately I'm way behind on coursework and have Prison Architect installed, so common sense tells me to work on that (the coursework that is) instead. =/

The first batch of cars which I bought last week. Hmn, I need to look out for a road to stick them on ( a quick google search found me a tutorial. Hey there's something to do over the Summer break! ...or youknow, I finish my existing models).

Hey look a pair of Highwayman! XD

Other than the Oldsmobile, which is a Corgi die cast, all of the other vehicles are McDonalds' toys based on the film Cars. I have a few more pick-up truck, a fire engine (which looks like the ones in New Vegas, if a little smaller) and a few other cars still to paint. Well other than that bag of Russian die casts I have that is (which're going to become barricades mostly in any case). Eugh, I need like a clone or something so I can work on all this properly.

© Messyart Stinkflies that he was nice enough to send me.

Uh, nobody notice that some of the wings are upside down ok?

Here's a comparison shot with the Armorcast mutant flies too. Messyart's ones are much more versatile, so despite all of the flies being made from the same pieces (torso, two wings, a head and a set of legs) a much wider variety of poses can be achieved.

I should see about getting a hold of some more of the torsos to cut up and turn into Bloatfly meat. That way I could make a market stall selling it like the one in Freeside.

And a Deathclaw Egg clutch made from some eggs that he's put together as well. The Young Deathclaw's his too (bar a resculpted face, it was a miscast).

My models kill your replies. :P

I like the way you angled a couple of them.. as simple as it is, I hadn't considered that.

Love the paint, especially on the cars. c:

A WIP of a wasteland knight. I seen a model of a knight with an SVD a few weeks ago, but it was too expensive. The original model for this however was 50p I think. Someone who's looted a museum I guess for a suit of armour. Good at fending off spiked baseball bats, bullets not so much. Perhaps a little more suited to the Across the Dead Earth setting.

Now to go back to my wonderful course work. =P

ANyway you could link me to this? :P

@ Messyart

Hey I'll keep posting even if everyone's internet connections go down (elsewhere all I get is people spending pages talking about fluff. Seriously I have posts in my Dakka thread that average a thousand words each just replying to all the questions). ...At least here there's not a million new threads a day, and they're a lot more focussed to stuff that interests me (*yawn* Space Marines). So yeah, screw those other guys! :)

* Fraser is in no way biased towards Lead Adventure because of all the wip sculpting blogs that he pops into and yells "you wouldn't happen to have any of those going spare would you/ gimme your fecking models!".  :D

The similar models by Armorcast are fixed at their base. I took your's not having this problem as an option to angle the model as though they were rushing forward rather than attacking. It adds more variety to a swarm than just having them all rearing up showing off their love holes (uh, maggot shooting love holes? ...Ok, I don't know where I was going there).

@ MajorTalon

Link you to what? The original model which I used in that picture, or the Knight with the SVD that I mentioned? I don't know what the original model is as I found it in a box loose, along with a couple of hundred other D&D style miniatures. That SVD guy though I can try and ask the guy who owns it, though the only reason I didn't buy it was that he said that models of that particular line go for big bucks on Ebay.

Anyhow, updates. Nae pictures, so hah hah hah. No I went to a show yesterday and bought a load of crap. That'll all be worked on over the summer hopefully, but I'll give an idea of what I'm looking to work on as far as projects go. Firstly, I need to finish off that shanty town, most of the bits of which have already been seen (albeit in a wide, un-detailed shot). After/before/whenever I feel like it ...that I have a few bits and bobs that should go towards a pre-war town, ie those Polly Pocket toys from before, and a church I picked up yesterday. Finally, as far as plans go for now, I'd like to work on my Vault. I need to talk to the guy who said he'd cast up the bits for me, as that was at the start of the year. But, that problem aside, I picked up a load of bits from Ainsty Castings which should work with the set that's planned.

I can work more on my miniatures after my course is over, something which has been limiting my time lately quite a bit (hey remember when I used to make three or four updates a week?). But I'd rather not get ahead of myself too much right now. There's far too many models that are asking for paint right now, but as ever, its much funner just to buy more in and leave all those whingers in the crap pile (which is a real thing btw, its now taking up a corner of my room ¬¬).

Aww hey, did you return to this site just to compliment me? Shucks. :'(

@  MajorTalon

Next time I see the guy who was selling that model I'll ask. Though he does have a few thousand models to sell, so whether or not he remember the thing maybe iffy. It was from some time travelling game from back in the 80s I think, though the quality wasn't horrible. Just an unusual looking model.

I've had some free time for the first time in weeks, so yesterday I bashed out a few minis. These are all still WIPs (I mean the guys in combat armour don't even have shin guards yet).

The first pair, some Raiders.

The first one's wearing a leather jacket (styled like the Great Khan armour with a pelt on the back). The second's wearing leather armour. I don't know what colours to go for with these. Either a dark brown a lighter, orange brown probably.

Two blokes in combat armour

Mercenaries presumably. I have a third to put together, but the position of his rifle made him too much of a hassle for me to sculpt. I'll be painting these like the combat armour from the original games/ Lonesome Road maybe, I donno. The guy with the plastic shoulder pads and bandanna will probably be painted in urban camo at least.

Bucket head, the friendly Raider (nah, he's an arse)

Well... I had some buckets handy, so this is what happened. Doesn't look too bad eh? ^^

All of those are either my own inventions, or based off of concept art (my internet connection's down, so all I had was Fallout 3's art book and memory). I have a few more bodies on my desk right now which I'll see about turning into other Fallout minis (I've been eyeing up some of the Raider art). I'll go into what the actual parts are when they're finished, though suffice to say they're all Wargames Factory Americans, Russians or Post Apocalyptic survivors (Bucket Head's one of the fat guys). What I can say is I need to practice my sculpting. =(

Woops, and a set of graves that will be worked on. I forgot about these things. In the original games graves were everywhere, and these should make good source for scavenged items in games. The white thing to the left's a Super Mutant, and there's a pair of Enclave troopers and some cowboys too in this shot as well. Don't take that as an indication that painted versions of any of that'll be appearing here soon though, I'm a lazy git. ;)

Right, back to my dark corner again. Come back and flash a torch in my eyes to see if I'm dead or not. If I'm still alive then I have shacks to paint. =P

google for "Survarium Black Market" images. Those guys were leather jackets :

The Fringe faction has a jacket with a wolf's head on the back :

I haven't been following Survivarum's development (I'll be more interested when it becomes an open world MMORPG rather than the arena shooter it is right now), but I'm liking those screen shots. The style of those Fringe guys is cool. In Fallout 3, as far as concept art went, there was three main classes of clothing: Settler, Raider and Slaver. The leather armours were Slaver cloths, and with those gas masks, those Fringe stalkers would work well with that faction. I'll see about sticking a model together based on that last image tonight. Tah zizi.  :)
