a new range of 20mm cold war era figures with a twist
« on: November 18, 2013, 03:40:03 PM »
those of you who game the coldwar era with armies of the smaller nations or small wars like the wars of fading empires in the 60-70's have always had to look hard to find the right sort of troop types, often you can find the right weapons, but they are wearing the wrong head gear or the right head gear and the wrong small arms, well we at s&s models we may now have the answer, generic period figures with lots of head options:-

slr troops
these are the first range in a planned range of 3 types all with the same head option, these new figures we are calling western European equipped, have webbing based on the gb 58 pattern with a few small belt pouches, water bottles ect, with a bergen pk as an option for more heavily loaded troops.
they are equipped with gb/fn small arms ranging from fn slr, fn mag lmg, sterling smg, c/gustav, law66, and as to please those of you who like to get all of the right support equipment and to make the ranges complete from the start we also have an a/a weapon  in the form of blowpipe, 50mm mortar, 81mm mortar, artillery crews, and command troops as well as some prone figs for hmg's or atgw's like milan.

fn mag lmg troops

blowpipe

81mm mortar & crew
the head options is quite comprehensive and include:-
gb helmet, beret, no hat, beanie, bearded, floppy hat, african, arab, russian, usa m1, female, campaign hat ect,

european in beret, no hat and bold.

african in usa m1 helmet.

european in various campaign hats, with and without beards.
allowing you to create forces from smaller nato nations, african or middle east as well as various mercenary armies from the 70's as in this small scale it really is only the head gear and guns which are the main difference in a lot of the worlds armies.
we also have  multi head option jeep/truck crews to really make your vehicles come alive.
these will be going live into the webshop over the next few days.
if these ranges prove successful we plan 2 similar ranges, one with usa weapons like m16 & m60 and a range with soviet weapons, all with the heavier support weapons and vehicle crew as the range above.
as usual more pics on the picture site:-

we also welcome suggestions for more weapon or head types, just as always you never get unless you ask ;)
thanks for looking
