the Lost Standing Stones of Tonga-Wonga!
« on: November 20, 2013, 02:22:09 AM »
I wanted to get some Hirst molds pre cast Egyptian pieces from http://www.nalsworkshop.com/,
and picked up a set of these precast standing stones at the same time.
A quick basecoat, drybush,  flock and grass, and viola!
Pulp figures river pirate for scale.

Hmmm, maybe I need a few tufts?

Oh and the Egyptian stuff?
test pieces below;

raw hydrostone column piece glued together

no painting just a dunk in miniwax golden oak

wait to dry and viola, disappointing...very light tan nuttin!
now off to paint and drybrush the old fashioned way

or maybe basecoat then dunk

Oh, here is a test sphinx, painted and drybrushed like I did the stones but in desert sand tones.

Whats this doing in the jungle?

Very nice! I really like those standing stone pieces. Those would make cool little plot point markers.  ;)

THANKS for sharing!
