If you poke about a bit, you may be able to find some of the old Radio Sherlock Holmes programs with John Gielgud & Ralph Richardson as Holmes & Watson (and Orson Welles as Professor Moriarty!).

Now that sounds fantastic. I found a bunch of recordings on Archive.org of Basil Rathbone reading Holmes stories. Very cool indeed.

Excellent story, worthy of the great sleuth.

Picked up Holmes and Watson minis at UK Games Expo at the weekend. Now to find and paint a few Giant rats.   Only problem with Sherlock is once again he is wearing a deer stalker, in all his adventures he never wears one as far as I can remember.

 Please let us have more.

Cheers

He would only wear a deerstalker if he was out and about in the countryside, as in Silver Blaze or The Hound Of The Baskervilles etc. In the Brett series, he is occasionally to be seen in deerstalker and "big coat", interestingly in a very pale shade of grey, as opposed to the usual brown plaid versions seen on minis. In urban settings he would always wear the appropriate dress for the occasion.

I personally blame the fixation on the deerstalker on the Basil Rathbone movies, where he seems to wear it all the time  ???

Jeremy Brett's costumes are always impeccably researched. I'm trying to find a suitable non-Holmes figure of a gentleman to use for urban adventures. The ones I have are either too stout, or have too much facial hair  :(

Happily, at least Watson is well catered for  :)

I agree Gluteus,

We need a slim, tall gentleman dressed in black with top hat and walking stick. Hmm,I might have to get the Green stuff out and have  ago... :)

Of course, bear in mind I am an amateur and my sculpting is a bit hit and miss :(
I'll see what I can do, if the green looks ok, I'll get some cast up. Now to tell the wife I am busy this evening and have an important task to do :)

Be careful or you'll get detailed instructions as to how busy you'll be and how important the job is..... :D

Well, that's usually what happens in my house....

As to the sculpting, I'm sure it'll be lovely

If he turns out as well as your 10th Doctor, it'll be a great mini  :)

He looks like the sort who is about to blow up a train, perform back alley surgery on a whitehouse prostitute, or sell you a "used" pocket watch! lol

Is that an original sculpt Orctrader?

Painted as it comes out of the blister.  It's The Hungarian Ambassador from Eureka. Pax Limp-something-or-other range  :)
