1/100 Polikarpov I-15 pre-released
« on: 29 November 2013, 10:37:22 PM »
Well, such is the thing --as title suggests:

Either if you're a 15mm gamer using aircraft the same scale as your ground forces, or a 20mm gamer using downscaled air support, this might be of your interest: http://minairons-news.blogspot.com.es/2013/11/1100-polikarpov-i-15-pre-released.html.

Will you guys ever look at making aircraft in 1/50 scale?

No, we haven't. We do not work at 1/50 scale, but 1/56 instead.

However, we considered 1/56 for a short while --and finally discarded making any plane bigger than 1/72.

Have you ever considered how pricey would such be?

In Denmark such a product would be economially untenable, but I note that Blitzkrieg Miniatures have just announced 1/56 aircraft on their facebook page, so apparently it can be done in some parts of the world.

moif,

There is a production expense and a sales expectation. It's the ratio between both factors that mark what can be done and what cannot.

You perhaps can reasonably expect to sell 1/56 Stukas by the hundreds, so that the starting invest is more than likely to be redeemed and even report some profit in the end.

But there's no such expectation at SCW biplanes. Sadly.

Just curious: have you considered using downscaled aircraft for your 1/56 tabletop? Some 1/72, let's say.

When I used aircraft (sadly I no longer have any), I used 1/48 models which I bought from e-bay and converted. I built a Heinkel He 51W seaplane. Sadly this model did not survive my four year old son.
