Reaper Miniature (Bones) ogre chieftain
« on: 08 December 2013, 03:13:54 AM »
I picked this up when I ordered a number of the Bones figures for my kids to learn to paint on.  Overall, very nice and extremely worth the $2.50 I spent.

Nice job. I like the skin and nails. I never noticed the face on The club before either.

Very nice work. I really like the palette you have used and the face paint/tattoo. :)

That's painted up really well - I've been a bit nervous of Bones myself, but they definitely seen to take the paint OK. Lovely basing too.

Nice to see your Ogre taking an interest in military history as well!  :D

Great brushwork. The face looks fantastic (lots of fierceness there).

The Big Guy turned out WONDERFULLY The brushwork, basing & color choices, especially the skin tones, are OUTSTANDING. VERY WELL DONE!

The larger Bones pieces seem to be uneffected by the soft plastic Reaper uses. That combined with the substantially lower prices does give the line a certain allure...& it's a fine way to introduce new painters to the craft.

Thanks everyone.  This was an experiment in picture taking as well since I used my iPhone for the set up.  I won't be using it again, the picture is very blurry around the model's head and the color is off.    :-I

Yes Lovejoy, he is a student of military history - especially the battle of Cannae.

Thanks DeafNala.  My kiddos are very excited about painting these large models.  My boys can't get enough of them and with Christmas coming up they can expect to receive a number of them.  I am grooming my own opponents since I don't have any gamers within 90 miles of me.
