French Indian Wars - Compagnie de la Marine uniforms
« on: December 08, 2013, 03:15:19 AM »
If uniform is what it could be called from what I have seen on product illustrations. I'm looking for good painting references for these guys, preferably Osprey as I have access to a number of these through various club members or online. Hope someone can help?
Cheers,

That's great, thanks. Some of these images are confirming that there is more use of blue than I expected (also confirms the colours used by an Ebay seller) and there are some links to some good gaming sites.

I usually look at Galloping Major first:

but his painting guides don't include Compagnie de la Marine yet.

Gary, Glynis, and Alasdair (there are three of us, but we are too mean to have more than one login)

Dans les situations critiques, quand on parle avec un calibre bien en pogne, personne ne conteste plus. Y'a des statistiques là-dessus.

I'm not sure it covers the exact unit you are looking for...but when I'm in doubt about F&I stuff I go to the source...Fort Ticonderoga.  check out their web site here: http://www.fortticonderoga.org/

Their research into, and recreation of, F&I and Rev War (AWI) units is impeccable IMO....plus it about 25 miles from my house... ;)
