Im Namen seiner Mayestät
« on: 28 December 2013, 12:55:45 PM »
This is my first try for a Company for IHMN. I call it the " k. u. k. Evidenzbureu Reaktionsgruppe". The Evidenzbureu was the military secret service of the old Austrian Empire and kept the Emperors enemies at distance. For the missions where more military power is needed than Prince Vlad can provide the Reaktionsgruppe is send.

Hauptmann von Novak is a jung captain of the Austrian infantery. As it fits his position and his aristocatic heritage he is a skilled duellist with his sabre and a fearless leader. Lady Tanja is the daughter of an Romanian cavallery officer and was one of Prince Vlads brides once. Now joined the Evidenzbureu she wears the uniform of an Austrian Husar and uses her fighting and shooting skills her father taught her.
Dr. Liebermann is an old fried of the captain and the medic and scientist of the Company, he believes in logic and human reason, so he isn`t afraid of the darkness thats rises in the old world.
Rifles and bayonets are provided by the Hauptmanns trusted soldiers, battle hardened veterans of the empires many armed conflicts.

Hauptmann Franz von Novak 77 Pts

Dr. Liebermann 25 Pts

Infanterist 20 Pts

Militäringenieur 47 Pts
Stats
Pluck: 5+ FV: +2 SV: +2 Speed: +0
Skills: Engineer
Gear: brigandine, pistol, Congreve Rocket Gun & 4 rocket grenades (any type)

Options
Hauptmann von Novak can swap his pistol for an Arc pistol (+4 points).
Infanteristen may purchase the Marksman Talent (+5 points) and/or the Bayonet Drill Talent (+2 points).
Infanteristen may buy explosive grenades (+6 points per grenade).
Any figure may purchase a Breath Preserver (+2 points).
If Tanja Ianescu is with the Company then it can also include a Wolf (18 points) from the Bestiary (HVF 3.0).

The list is loosely based on the British Rifle Company with little changes made to the captain and the field surgeon. Lady Tanja uses the stats of one of Prince Vlads brides with different equipment and a shooting value of +2. I like the idea to include animals, so I gave her to option to be acompanied by a wolf.
I am going to use the nice North Star 1966 Austrian molds for the soldiers, and two Empire of the Dead miniatures for the doctor and the lady.

As mentioned above, this is my first try, and I haven`t played the game yet.
What do you think, gentlemen?  :)

Excellent list, we need more from the Austro-Hungarian Empire  :D

I'd let your Infantrymen have the option of grenades, and perhaps include an engineer to give you access to some weird science.

Thank you for the link in the Blog, Craig!  8)
I´m going to include the options you have mentioned. Every soldier needs grenades.  ;)

The Austro-Hungarian miniatures from Scarab Miniatures are great. As they were released for WWI they look rather modern. If someone prefers classic (means colorful  lol ) uniforms these fit also very good:

The Austrian uniforms haven`t changed much between 1866 an the first years of the 20. century.

Hehe, Nik, you better not forget who ruled the Holy Roman Empire in these years. ;)
But it`s going to be interesting to see how my Deutschmeister stand their ground against your Todtruppen.  :D

Yes, its the brutal truth. While we have several Kaiser, the brits have...none.  ;)

No, we didn't have a Kaiser, merely a Queen-Empress over the largest Empire the world has ever known... ;D

Said to say, but thats a point for Craig.  :)

@ Tordenskjold: I will think about including Husars in the Company. As it should represent the military elite of the empire some cavallery would be appropriate.
