Almoravid 'comet' flag
« on: January 04, 2014, 07:57:28 AM »
Hi,

My first new project of 2014 is painting a small collection of about 30 Almoravids and a similar number of Christian/Andalusian opponents.

Many years ago when I saw the film El Cid, the Almoravids – had a weird banner (which has been described to me as a twin tailed comet).

Does anyone know if a similar flag is on the internet available to download, or available to buy from a manufacturer or failing that has anyone got a decent photo that I can copy.

Cheers

GW Empire use often a twin tailed comet as symbol, there should be flags of them on the internet (did a quick search, without succes..)

Here's the link to Rays Almoravids

http://onelover-ray.blogspot.co.uk/search?q=almoravids

and this is my effort on the computer - I have done a triangular version (as in Ray's photo) but I'm not too keen on that one so I've gone the rectangular one.

cheers

Looks good.
Iīve been on a hunt for a flag with a comet and only came up with why the comet symbol is used;
