First, I love this vehicle conversion. The best part i love is the weld lines along the front prowl. They show the work of an inexperienced welder who did the work which is what i think of when this APC was put together.
Second, where is the base vehicle from and what scale? I have seen these in 1/43 but look too big. This one looks pretty decent next to the fig with the shotgun.

Super cool. Great work on the rust and welding. I love the details, like the light protectors!

Looks great, but you wouldn't last 5 minutes. Supplies easily stolen from the rack, no easy access/escape for that gunner, the gun is gone after the first attack, and there is no protection for those wee tires.

All style, no survival. ;)

Many thanks for your inspiring comments! Unfortunately I was too sloppy to take pictures for a step to step docu. Sorry, next time!  :? The wear and tear was done with the hairspray methode and chipping and and the streaks with oil colours.

Kiel (city in north germany) is here just around the corner and the saw license plates whith the letters KI LL often. Quite fitting for zombie disposal.

In theory most toy cars I use are 1/43 and too big for 28mm Tabletop, but in on the table they look half decent. This VW is also not in Scale and according the imprint the scale is 1/40 (!!!), ... but it looks OK and was a steal at that price. :)

... and it is all about style, maybe my next conversion will be a realistic bad-ass-all-terrain vehicle.

I would not have guessed that VW was 1/40 scale. But i guess the base the mini is on helps the size comparison. Putting the VW on 4 of the same bases and comparing the fig to it would be a different story. But i still like it. Military fashion or not.  :-)
