Battle on the Ice, an Hail Caesar AAR
« on: January 14, 2014, 06:16:25 AM »

My first AAR for 2014 are a sequal to one of the last battles I and Jonas fought during 2013 using our Blatic Crusas minis and the Hail caesar rules. You can find it at my blog.

Best regards Michael

Very interesting AAR. A great battle in that fantastic terrain! Perhpas the ice is a bit too dangerous for the game?

An opportunity for some nice house rules whereby the ice breaks and swallows your whole armyat random... lol
Measure with a micrometer, mark with chalk, cut with an axe, hammer to fit, paint to match!

Thanks  !!!

The ice was a bit dangerous, but if you dismounted and moved in open order/Skirmish one move each turn you didn´t have any risk at all, so it was a chooise to make for the commanders...

Best regards Michael

Jarl Birger did take a chance and got a bath for free...

Great flags. Did you hand paint them?

Thank you very much !

Yes the Swedish Crusaders flag are handpainted at linnen fabric.

The one on Jonas Novgorodians are from LBM studios.

Best regards Michael

So lovely to look at and such a clever rule to add!

I can't help but think of the children's game, "Don't Break the Ice!"  Ooops!
