Tzigane's Classic Orcs (orc witch)
« on: 15 January 2014, 09:12:13 AM »
Hey everyone, this will be my first post at this forum. :)

For a while now, I've been collecting pre 1992 orc models from Games Worshop. I love the character they used to have, as opposed to the generic plastic kits of today.
I use them to play Mordheim as well, so they're not just display pieces. I've tried to keep them instyle of the good ol' days of Warhammer in the '80s.

Axe squad! :D

Some orcs with bows

A few goblins, handy to keep those squigs in check!

No classic squigs, unfortunately, but squigs weren't around in the 80s anyway. :)

Also a "modern" model in there:

The base wasn't finished yet when I took this picture:

What Bibbles said, with knobs on!
Those bases are quality too.

I do love old skool Orcs, so I really appreciate you posting these.
First post, ya say: Welcome aboard!
Keep up this lark and we will have to have your bags moved to First Class, Sir.

Wow, thank you all!

There will definitely be more, unfortunately not much. I have enough weapon options for most of the options in a Mordheim warband, so I don't really nééd more miniatures.
Since my income is not very high, I don't have the luxury of buying whatever I want.

I have three more orc archers, and two orcs with banner poles with which I'm looking to do something fun. (Old-skool banners!)

I do however plan to collect a Mordheim Carnival of Chaos warband, some nurglings and plaguebearers have already found their way upon my painting desk.
Also a few female figures from Reaper. (two pretty ladies, and an ugly female orc hag!)

The Lads in Green look TERRIFIC! The brushwork, especially the free hand on the shields, is OUTSTANDING. The bases finish off the minis perfectly...you can't go wrong with mushrooms. GREAT WORK!

Really nice minis !

I also have a few of these classic orcs, including a few archers, the troll, even a few boars riders and black orcs, I believe. I never painted them. I might take another look on these ;)

Cool shields!  :o

Never really liked the old orcs & goblins, but now I've changed my mind, these are awesome!

Great to see a new Dutchie at this forum! ;)

They look great! Seeing the third picture they looked familiar but then I realised I saw the last week on a dutch forum :D. I really like the colours on the Axe squad.

Been salivating over this on the Oldhammer Forum. You've done a superb job assembling and painting such a group of characters. They really put GW's plastic drones to shame.

Great stuff!

Any chance of a pic of that ogre?
