I echo that sentiment - great job by the Warlords.  I also agree that the lighting in the hall sucks but am prepared to ignore it to attend the UK's biggest show.

PS.  Missing suitcase just delivered by courier - all is well  :D

It was a First Carlist War- Battle of Barbastro - 1837.

They also had Pelennor Fields and Commandoes Forward a WWII game.

I meant Martian game  :)

Those house are by John Boadle, very talented chap (I went to university with him) but I don't think he really does anything any more which is a shame.

No worries, there are plenty of photos on your blog (excellently extensive by the way) and I would imagine it would get confusing with all the games on show  :)

Lost in dark perhaps :) No seriously I couldn't remember when or where the LAF meet up was, wasn't there to buy much this year, delivered some painting and wanted to peruse the games more this year, chose the wrong year for that it seems.

Yes, there weren't that many spectaculars this year, were there?

A lot of nice looking games - but lots of them were these mini table layouts which seem very much in vogue... Maybe all aimed at short, sharp participation games?

On the plus side, I didn't see a single Subbuteo cloth - probably for the first year ever at Salute. In fact, there were very few crap-looking games. Thank God. Maybe someone has finally set out some standards to aim for...
But very few outstanding display games either...

I don't think the crap lighting did the games any favours this year, the Mars and the Keren games did not seem to suffer as much though, must have been the colour of the terrain that helped. In the vastness of Excel even the large games get swallowed up.

Sounds like a daft thing to say but I wonder if the floor was a different colour. I can't remember if we were in the same 'hall' as last year  ???

It was certainly darker though.

cheers
