Anyone done the Okhrana using Khador models?
« on: January 20, 2014, 12:36:00 AM »
Has anyone tried to fill out the Okhrana company using Khador models from Privateer Press' Warmachine? I have some assorted Khador models lurking around in my lead pile and I'm thinking about digging them out.

I just wanted to see if anyone had already done the heavy lifting on this, as I am woefully ignorant of most things Russian and know I"m way out of my comfort zone here.

Nope, I did consider a couple of the character/solo figures but there are some really nice Russians out there now so if I do it, I'll use those.
So many projects..... so little time.......

There was some discussion a couple of years ago about using Khador for Russians when we were running the Atlantis campaign. There was one battle at least that they fought in Atlantis - ushistoryprofessor's Russia v Spain (ie Khador v Menoth), fighting over access to the north-east coastal areas. When I win the lottery and can afford all the minis I want, I will definitely be building a Russian Khador force, but until then...

My biggest problem I think would be scale - the Warmachine figs tend to be pretty large in comparison to some manufacturers.

The figs are not terrible when it compares to your average 28mm as long as your are not planning to use the warcasters or anything with giant shoulder pads. My buddy is using Winter Guard as evil Cossacks for Count Vlad and winter Guard Riflemen as Okhrana and he is thinking of using Assault Kommandos as Austrian assault troops.

Dans les situations critiques, quand on parle avec un calibre bien en pogne, personne ne conteste plus. Y'a des statistiques là-dessus.

I don't mind warmachine figs though they are big, and I would not buy them for IHMN since they are so bloody pricey now. They work if you already own them, though they make good figs. My Committee of 300 list is made using Cygnarian figures, mostly the gun mages as assassins since you can pass there pistols off as short shotguns and every assassin should carry a sword and the trenchers as shock infantry and they can be described as large tough men; grenadiers or similar.
