Hammer's Slammers Tank dimensions?
« on: 21 January 2014, 05:08:51 PM »
Aintsy does those 15mm Hammer's Slammers Blower Tanks in 15mm, but I recall them being rather large. Does anyone know how long and wide they are?

I have the Old Crow ones and they have a really large foot print. I couldn't get them to fit in my FoW large tank foam trays.

Found this on the Slammers website:

Quote
The tanks are around 110mm long, 73mm wide and 32mm to the top of the turret (with the hatch/cupola being slightly proud of that). They have a one piece cast hull and a separate turret (obviously…)

Sounds about the same as I have.

Thanks. So the Old Crow and Ainsty are different models?

I haven't seen the Ainsty stuff in the flesh, but they say they're all resculpted. There's also some talk about "correct 1/100 scale dimensions" as if the Old Crow stuff wasn't correct scale but it seems fine to me...

In addition it should be mentioned that GZG has suitable items though their vehicles are not sold under the Slammers name.

Sorry, was out last night helping a friend with their computer :( I've sent myself an email to remind me to measure them tonight.

The Ainsty tanks are completely new sculpts. I've never seen the Old Crow ones, but these are supposed to be bigger. I've got
the Ainsty combat cars too, but they're not made up at all.

Hmmm... looks like the Old Crow ones are about 80mm wide and 120mm long, so I don't really see a huge difference compared to Ainsty (73x110mm).

They're big, but what did you expect a 200 ton behemoth to be? Unlike some vehicles on the market, they look like the crew actually fits in...

Thanks Guys!

Is Old Crow still shut shop? The webpage seems to say so but I get the impression people might still be able to order if they know what they want.

And I think he's meant to be going to Blast-Tastic too later in the year.

I'd love to see a side-by-side shot of them.
