Who left that Tod-Truppen lying there?
« on: 22 January 2014, 03:52:01 PM »
Gentlemen.

Can I assume that if a figure spends a shooting or fighting phase in base to base contact with a non-revivified dead Jager or a deactivated Tod-Truppen (due to them being outside the range of an Arc Generator) that any future reanimation can be prevented by permanently removing bits from the corpse? And that this process is automatic on account of the body not actually putting up a struggle?

If not how do you chaps handle this / have I missed a rule somewhere?

In similar vein ... can a figure shoot at a dead Jager / deactivated Tod-Truppen to render it too squishy to come back as a functioning zombie?
I guess there might be a roll to hit in this case? At the same bonus as 'Knocked Down' or better as the target isn't wriggling?

I ask as I have a (way too tricksey) friend who thought that it would be a good idea to deliberately leave dead Jagers / deactivated Tod-Truppen lying around to act as zombie land mines whenever an Arc Generator came too close. (Spot the former D&D Necromancer).

Your thoughts, as always, welcome.
I'm not saying let's go kill all the stupid people ... I'm just saying lets remove all the warning labels and let the problem sort itself out ...

you've missed rule number one :
zombies ? kill them twice , 1 shoot in the heart, then cut the head  :D
it's the same with those bloody huns !  ;)

Dans les situations critiques, quand on parle avec un calibre bien en pogne, personne ne conteste plus. Y'a des statistiques lĂ -dessus.

That makes the pistol / sabre combination very appealing   :P

I say, that's a jolly clever idea! Come to think of it, so is 'deactivating' them before they are activated.

Mind you, is it really cricket to go interfering dead bodies?  :D

That kind of reminds me of a D&D guide to odd useful things for dungeoneers to carry, such as caltrops and ball-bearings......  >:D

As the rules were written with the KISS principle front and centre, we made no complicated rules for preventing reanimation, and I expect we shall stand by that.

However, if that is how you would like to play it then as long as your opponents agree please go ahead.

Perhaps a general coup de gras rule?

If a figure can make base-to-base contact with another figure that has been knocked out of the game, the may attempt to finish off the downed figure. The attacking figure gets a +4 to SV or FV (as appropriate) and the target gets a -1 to its Pluck roll, in addition to any other modifiers.

This tactic is only worthwhile if the figure out of the game can reanimate or the dkirmish is part of a campaign (in ehich case it is a most cowardly and dishonorsble act).

KISSy is good, 'cept when the blighter you're playing with asks "what happens ...."

How is he leaving the dead bodies around? Running living ones out into the open to get shot?

Sort of ... not deliberately though, the question was "What happens if my Jager dies more than 8" from an Arc Generator ... can it be prevented from becoming a Tod-Truppen?

And the other question was "What happens to my Tod-Truppen if the Arc Generator moves more than 8" away ... when deactivated are they immune from damage?"

That lad has too many brain cells if you ask me ....
