Damn, but they're lovely.

No they're not. They're 27-28 mm from foot to eye, just measured my DAK.

Nice releases.

Yeah, it's something I checked with my Perry's mins. They look small sometimes because of the delicate, more realistic proportions compared to some of the 'old school' styles, with exaggerated extremities. Height-wise they're bang on 28mm scale.

Yes, but they are literally 28mm tall, whereas many 28mm figures are actually much bigger than that.
Better way to think of the Perry Western Desert figures is 'true 1/56 scale'.
However you like to put it though, they are indisputably smaller and slighter than most so-called 28mm figures.

To quote Michael Perry:

‘The figures are for 1/56 scale vehicles, so have to be 28mm - which they are if you measure from base of heel to top of head, and 29mm if you measure to the top of the helmet. Obviously, some are leaning so you have to measure at an angle. They are slight in frame, hopefully more human looking. But again it helps to make them a more accurate bulk as I didn't want to see large – fat - figures completely filling vehicle driving compartments’.

Thanks Arthur for the news. Some lovely goodies for the Western Desert.

Best wishes,
Helen

I wonder if they would see their way to making these sets with berets. A little work on the rifles and I would have just what I need and would buy at least 3 platoons worth.

As they are they would make perfect Australians in summer kit for Korea and quite acceptable ones for the SW Pacific. Surely at some point the Perry twins must crack and make some Japanese?
