Hello all

Eric, nice ideas. I didnt noticed those packs.
I use either foundry shields or warlord plastic cesarian shields.
I dont use decals so i cannot help you in that Eric.
Usually the LBMS decals are specific fo a type of shield/manufacturer i think, so its better to check by sending an email and ask what suits your minis.

Cheers

Rui

Hello all

Some updates on this project.
Unfortunatelly no painted figures. Only some conversions to add to the unpainted pille. :D

No time available to paint but soon it will come. :?

Miniatures:

2 mounted greeks converted to mounted romans (either bodyguards or assassins)
2 foot archers (the sandals being the only conversions)
2 roman soldiers building something (both where macedonian pikemen converted)

Cheers

Rui

Hello all

A poor update i know but its what i can for the time being.
Another horsemen for my roman gangs.
Again head from west wind picts, rider from the foundry greek range and cloack sculped.

And the four riders of the apocalipse in all their glory and expecting some paint... ::)

Cheers

Rui

I do like those mounted, what or how do you base them?

I'm looking at using big frightening dogs in a gang as well, counting them as 2 men.
Cheers,

Poiter50 i use white glue and then spread thin sand from model railway ballast in Ho scale or whatever i like.
Simple way and fast.
I let it dry for 12h or 24h depending on the surface.
If you dont like this method do try white pumice from vallejo. Its thin and very usefull. I also use pumice for texturing my buildings.

Dogs in a gang would be interesting.
You can also use them as a pack, hold by a noble roman who uses them to defend is villa from a raid.

Excellent group of riders.

Very dynamic ones.

For basing, you can use Glue Varnish (from hobby store). It' great because drying very fast (less than hour) ! I use it for my terrain pieces.

Good thought on the Villa defense, I have been collecting 10-12 figure gangs for use in the Gangs of Rome rules but I might gather a "Villa defense force" - 9-12 dogs and 3-4 dogs handlers.

I'm hopeful of getting my Insulae this week from the friend who has offered to print the magnified versions. The originals are from Eric Hotz Roman Seas range and he has enlarged them by 350% to make them compatible with 28mm figures. I felt the 300% enlargement was too small and would not match the Najewitz Modelbau buildings that I already had.

NB: It is hard to type when you have had 3 large glasses of nice red wine!!

No, it is Aussie red at 14%. If it was European red, I wouldn't be worried as the lack of preservative ensure a clear head next day. I need to play taxi driver soon, so the imbibing has ceased.
