Advice sought - reproducing 28mm heads.
« on: February 19, 2014, 05:30:15 PM »
Hi,

I'm doing some conversions in 28mm scale and to save time I'd like to mold and cast (in resin or even green stuff) some of the heads I've converted.

I've watched countless youtube videos of guys making molds and casting parts but I still can't decide what the best method will be….

I'm torn between;

1. A single piece mold and then cutting out the pieces to create the parting line (sounds easy, probably offers less of a mold line but looks like it takes some skill).

2. A two piece mold (Easy enough to create – I'm familiar with 2 part molds for larger pieces, but I'm worried about the mold line left on such small pieces.)

Any advice or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Tim.
