Command and Colours , 1/72 Punic Wars
« on: February 21, 2014, 06:28:45 AM »
A few pictures from last weeks Command and Colours game . I usually play wargames in 15mm or 28mm , but having to provide both armies for this period I was able to readily  afford it in 1/72 and some of the more recent figures are fantastic.
Apologies if the images are too big

cheers Tom

Great stuff. I've got a stack of the HAT Punic boxes as loft insulation waiting for me to start armies for DBA, Basic Impetus and/or Crusader or possibly Warmaster. I'm stashing your pics for inspiration.  :D
Waiter, my soup is giggling.

Lovely armies! I take it you use a whole stand of figures to count as a single block? So 4 stands of infantry for one unit?
Now accepting painting and terrain-building commissions. PM for details!

G'day All thanks for the comments

1. the odd raised shaped pieces are our hills for this table  , not the most prefect representation , but better than a flat piece of card chit
2. I actually use large red dice to mark casualties and they follow the unit around , these figures also get used to Warhammer Ancients and Kings of War , the multi basing is so I can move a whole  unit easier and again I mark casualties with dice
3. hexes were too difficult to get right the first time on such a large scale whereas a simple grid like this is quite easy and it still works exactly the same , although I admit it can look odd

cheers Tom
